Maintaining facility hygiene, maximizing campus safety, and minimizing disruptions to occupants are just a few of the important tasks that custodian Crystal Sylvas keeps up with on a daily basis at Northshore High. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Crystal never hesitates to be a team player and loves the opportunity she gets to see young students grow throughout their high school years as they develop big hopes with big plans.

Fifth graders at Carolyn Park Middle turned off the lights and observed the patterns and constellations of stars through their very own hand-made Constellation Viewers! ✨ By shining a light through the viewers they were able to see how the stars are laid out to form constellations!💫

🔥 Tuition-Free Welding Training Opportunity! 🔥

STPPS is expanding its partnership with the ABC New Orleans/Bayou Chapter and EXCEL USA to offer tuition-free welding training for high school students ages 16+.

📅 Begins Sept. 30 on Wednesdays & Thursdays
⏰ 6-9 p.m. at Fontainebleau High School

📅 Mandatory parent meeting: Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. at Fontainebleau High School. Applications are available in school front offices and must be submitted at the meeting.

Lakeshore High School graduate Kierstin Cousin is Building Our Legacy by pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience so she can perform research to advance the treatments of women's health.

✏️ Teacher of the Year Spotlight 📚

Alan Greenwald from Bayou Lacombe Middle stays inspired by approaching every day as an opportunity to teach his students how to think critically and believe in themselves. He also leads the STEM Club and Intramural Sports Club where he is able to empower students through innovation and engagement.

Second graders at Honey Island Elementary celebrated the completion of their reading unit on fairy tales and tall tales by letting their imaginations take hold and having an enchanted day filled with dressing up as their favorite characters and creating illustrations based on Paul Bunyan!
