Paige Marler, a Physician Assistant at AVALA Spine & Pain, began the year searching for her “misogi," a defining challenge that would push her beyond her comfort zone while improving the lives of others. When she learned about Hope House and Heroes Who Cook, getting involved was a no-brainer.

“Hope House serves our most vulnerable and precious population—children. I think their mission is important to everyone.”

Paige has teamed up with Chef Beaux and owner Brent Belsom of Abita Roasting Co., whose passion, excitement and commitment to Hope House have made them the perfect partner. Their competition dish is still under wraps, but Paige readily admits she’ll be leaving the cooking to Chef Beaux!😜

In the meantime, the team is raising funds through a drawing featuring some fantastic prizes. Visit Abita Roasting Co. in Covington, look for the prize list and scan the tableside QR code while dining in to donate and be entered into the drawing.

Let’s help Paige and the Abita Roasting Co. Covington team turn this year-defining challenge into a life-changing impact for children! 💙 Get the full scoop on this year's event, and donate toward their team here: https://support.cachopehouse.org/marler

For Col. Robert Hodges, participating in Heroes Who Cook is an opportunity to support a mission close to his heart.💙

“As a community leader in law enforcement, it’s a privilege to support and raise funds for the Advocacy Center. Children are our most precious gift from God!”

He’s teaming up with Chef Michael Sage at The Anchor in Madisonville, a restaurant Col. Hodges says perfectly defines Northshore living and waterfront dining.

Chef Michael is equally excited to put his talents to work for Hope House.

“Heroes Who Cook is a great way for me to use my skills to help my community. We’re showing up to have a good time for a good cause.”

What will Team Anchor be serving the big event on November 1? They aren’t revealing the dish just yet, but guests can expect a Southern favorite in a way they’ve never seen before. 👀

🚢 This week, Hope House had the privilege of welcoming more than 45 Crescent River Port Pilots to tour our center, learn about our mission, and participate in valuable child abuse prevention education.

The Port Pilots play an important role in keeping our waterways safe, and we see a meaningful parallel in our mission at Hope House: working together to enhance safety and protect the children in our community.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, attention, and commitment they have shown to Hope House, and for the many ways they have invested in our mission over the years.🙏🏻

Thank you, Crescent River Port Pilots, for helping us make our community safer - both on the river and for our children.💙

Special thanks to Brian, Elizabeth, and Joey for assisting in the presentation and outreach.👊🏼

What an incredible day with the Northshore Community Foundation’s Chevron Fellows! 💙

We were recently honored to host this year’s Fellows at Hope House for an opportunity to learn more about the work happening every day to protect children, support families and help child abuse survivors begin to heal.

Our team shared a closer look at the child advocacy center model and the role Hope House plays following allegations of child abuse, from forensic interviews and family advocacy to counseling and prevention education. Most importantly, we were able to show this group what it looks like when an entire community comes together around a child during one of the most difficult moments of their life. 🙏🏻

A huge thank you to Detective Brian Brown with the Covington Police Department and SVU Task Force, who also joined us to lead an outstanding Internet Safety training - an important educational program that is also heavily supported by Collin Sims DA. Brian did a phenomenal job (as he always does) sharing practical, eye-opening information about the risks children face online and what adults can do to better protect them.👏

We are so grateful to the Chevron Fellows for spending the day with us, asking thoughtful questions and taking such a genuine interest in our mission. And thank you to the Northshore Community Foundation for creating opportunities like these that connect emerging community leaders with the organizations serving our Northshore.

Days like this remind us that protecting children takes all of us. 💙

💥Heroes Who Cook 2026 fundraising is in full swing, and we're counting down the days until the big event Nov. 1st on the rooftop of the Justice Center parking garage! We'd like to give a special thank you to Parish President Mike Cooper and his wife Catherine for hosting us, and for their many years of support and dedication to our cause!🙏

“Children’s Advocacy Center - Hope House is an invaluable organization in St. Tammany Parish and their efforts are life-changing,” said Parish President Mike Cooper. “Hosting the Heroes Who Cook annually is incredibly important to me, in giving Hope House a platform to fundraise and help our community. I look forward to celebrating with our local celebrities and chefs, but more importantly, I thank all participants and organizers, whose efforts help combat child abuse on the Northshore.”

We can't wait to see y'all on November 1st!

📣We have some BIG NEWS! This year, every dollar you donate through Heroes Who Cook 2026 will be matched up to $100,000, thanks to A Gift Given In Jesus’ Name!

This extraordinary act of generosity continues a partnership that began in 2018, when Steve and Lucy Tujague and The IJN Foundation (In Jesus' Name) helped transform Men Who Cook (now Heroes Who Cook) — and ultimately the future of Hope House. Since then, their support has inspired an entire community, helped Heroes Who Cook grow into one of the Northshore’s most anticipated events, and strengthened Hope House’s ability to bring hope, healing and justice to local children. We're so grateful for their partnership and the life-changing impact it will have on generations to come... all in Jesus' name.✝️❤️

This morning was truly unforgettable.💙 We celebrated the grand opening of Brooke’s Place at the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust Campus, and we could not have asked for a more beautiful day or a more incredible turnout.

This new space will allow Hope House to serve more children and families with greater comfort, privacy and speed, providing additional room for forensic interviews, trauma therapy, community training and prevention education.

We are especially grateful for the extraordinary support of the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust, the IJN Foundation (In Jesus’ Name), Senator Patrick McMath, and a generous friend of Hope House (anonymous), whose generosity and advocacy helped make this expansion possible.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the Brooke It Forward Foundation, Exchange Club of West St. Tammany, BridgeNet, Eagle A/C and Heating, Louisiana Bar Foundation, Ann and Robert Boh, MSH Architects, Larry and Connie Galloway, Covington Business Association, Chris and Julie Foret, and our many other donors for their generous support of this project.

We are honored to carry forward the legacy of Brooke E. Posey, a young woman who loved children, remembered every birthday and made people feel celebrated. Her beautiful spirit will forever live within these walls.🩷

Special thanks to The Reminding for providing the delicious food and coffee for our guests, and to Studio 7 for so beautifully capturing this special day through photography and videography.

Today, we opened more than a building. We opened more room for hope, healing and justice.🙏
