The co-op currently provides electricity to approximately 100,000 homes and businesses in an eight-county area that includes large portions of Newton, Henry and Rockdale countie Please note that email or social media should not be used to report an outage, emergency or other service problem. If you need to make a payment, you can do so anytime online at www.ssemc.com, by calling 1-888-999-1416, or

at our 24-hour payment kiosks located in the lobby of both of our offices. Please report all outage, emergency, or other service problems by phone at one of the options below.

All emergency or hazardous conditions should be reported by phone to SSEMC immediately. The SSEMC emergency phone line is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Snapping Shoals EMC employees Savannah Hopkins and Jessie Thomas helped out at the 7th Annual Newton County Sheriff's Office Back-to-School Golf Tournament at the Ashton Hills Golf Club in Covington this morning. All proceeds from the tournament go toward providing school supplies for local students in need. SSEMC regularly supports the communities we serve with employee volunteers for events such as these.

This year’s Annual Meeting of the Members of Snapping Shoals EMC is set for Thursday, July 16, at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers. Members will receive a letter in July that contains their registration cards. Please bring the cards with you to the Annual Meeting. Information usually found in the Annual Report will be available online in July at ssemc.com.

Registration for the Annual Meeting will be in-person only and will open at 8:30 a.m. and end promptly at 11:15 a.m. The business session will begin at 11:30 a.m. and prize drawings will be held after the business session ends. The meeting will feature all of our traditional Annual Meeting festivities, including live music, children’s games and energy information booths. Only Snapping Shoals EMC members (electric customers) are eligible to register, to participate in co-op business, and to win prizes.

Snapping Shoals EMC employee Ken Ellington, right, recently presented SSEMC's E-Zone Safety Demonstration to 40 elementary students at Newton County's summer STEAM camp. The E-Zone Safety Demonstration educates students on how electricity is generated and how to stay safe around electricity. As a proud supporter of education, SSEMC regularly participates in camps such as this each summer.

SSEMC is a strong supporter of schools in our territory and believes in educating future generations.
