This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and we want to recognize the men and women who serve as the critical link between those in need and those who respond.

In moments of chaos, fear, and uncertainty, they are the calm voice. They gather life-saving information, coordinate complex incidents, and guide both callers and first responders through situations where every second matters.

The work of St. Tammany Fire District #1 Communications Division “Fire Alarm” may never be seen by the public, but it is felt in every response, every life saved, and every family that gets help when they need it most.
Let us also recognize the men and women of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office communications division.

Join us in recognizing and celebrating these professional heroes who are always there to answer your call.

Thank You! 🚔🚒🚑

FETA-Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Academy is conducting fire flash/rollover training for several St. Tammany Fire Departments. This is valuable training in fire behavior and fire chemistry. Flashover is the near-simultaneous ignition of most combustible materials in an enclosed area, occurring when the majority of exposed surfaces reach their autoignition temperature and emit flammable gases. This phenomenon typically happens at temperatures between 500 °C (932 °F) and 600 °C (1,112 °F).
Yes, personnel were inside, sitting at floor level, in full gear, with SCBA, under the supervision of highly trained instructors. No, they were not exposed to the extreme flashover temperatures.
