At ESNKY, volunteers help make beds and prepare fresh linens for guests staying the night, creating a welcoming environment and a comfortable place to rest. We are seeking volunteers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to help with this simple act of care. If you are looking for a weekday morning opportunity to get involved in shelter, this could be the job for you!

A visit to the 2026 Covington Garden Tour does more than delight the senses—it directly supports the vital work of the ESNKY. A portion of every ticket sold helps provide safe shelter and essential services for adults experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.

On Saturday, June 13 (10 am – 4 pm) and Sunday, June 14 (11 am –4 pm), the self-guided tour will offer a rare opportunity to explore urban gardens tucked behind some of the city’s finest Victorian homes. Visitors will experience a blend of historic architecture, creative landscaping, and lush outdoor spaces that showcase the character and charm of this revitalized neighborhood.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our nation.

While administrative offices are closed, ESNKY’s Life Saving. Life Changing programs continue operating on regular schedules, including Emergency Shelter, Shower & Laundry Services, and Housing Work Programs — ensuring basic needs continue to be met for those who need them most.

Community donations continue to be welcomed throughout the holiday weekend, including approved leftover food donations from gatherings and events. To coordinate a donation, call (859) 291-4555 or drop off items at 436 W. 13th Street, Covington, KY 41011.

Thank you for showing up for our community in such a powerful way!

Because of your generosity on KY Gives Day, we raised enough in a single day to cover overnight shelter costs for 53 individuals. That means 53 people will have a bed of their own, meals, a hot shower and access to laundry services—simple dignities that make an enormous difference.

Your support turns compassion into action, and action into real, tangible care. We’re deeply grateful for every donation, every share and every person who helped make this possible.

Did you know that ESNKY hosted 35 daytime volunteer groups last year? We welcome groups from churches, summer camps, work teams, and more! Last week we had two groups come to shelter.

We want to thank Fidelity Investments, Covington campus for coming to shelter for Fidelity Cares Month and Crossroads Churchfor coming to shelter for Crossroads GO Local.

We appreciate their work to make beds, prep an evening meal, clean around the shelter, organize our pantry, and give our donations room some love.

Cavaliers Care Ministry from St. Joseph School in Crescent Springs, KY was recently awarded the Ralph Drees Impact Award for their continuous meal service and other onsite initiatives which regularly connect students and their families with ESNKY’s mission.

“Every time a student goes down there and humbly submits themselves to the most vulnerable in our community it’s extremely rewarding, and I think it just feeds the soul of the kids and encourages them to be the hands and feet of Jesus,” said Christie Pavia, founder of the Caviler Cares program.

ESNKY CEO Kim M. Webb had the pleasure of surprising the student group with the award announcement after mass.

Do you have handy skills and are looking for a way to volunteer at ESNKY? We need volunteers to do minor repairs around the shelter! Everything from replacing outlets/switches, fixing leaky faucets, spackling walls, makes an impact on our guests and staff.

We want to develop a list of people with handy talents to call on when the shelter needs a little love. Reach out to us and tell us about your special skills!
