🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT – ROADWAY CHANGES & TEMPORARY CLOSURES 🚧

We would like to make residents, visitors, and commuters aware of upcoming roadway changes associated with ongoing construction activities near the St. Tammany Parish Hospital (1202 S Tyler St, Covington, LA) area.

🔹 South Tyler Street (Hwy. 21) Turning Lane Closure
Beginning Friday, June 5, 2026, at 7:00 AM, the right-turn lane on South Tyler Street (Hwy. 21) will be closed due to construction. This closure is expected to remain in place for approximately six months.

To assist motorists with the transition and help maintain traffic flow, Covington Police officers will be stationed south of the closure during weekday hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM for the first week following the traffic pattern change.

🔹 West 11th Avenue Temporary Road Closure
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, a large crane will be relocated to hospital property. To safely facilitate this move, West 11th Avenue will be closed between South Tyler Street and South Harrison Avenue from 7:00 AM until approximately 12:00 PM (noon).

Covington Police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control and direct motorists around the affected area.

⚠️ What You Need to Know
• Expect some delays in and around the South Tyler Street and West 11th Avenue corridor.

• Please follow all posted signage and directions from law enforcement personnel.
• Allow additional travel time if your route takes you through this area.
