Good morning,

The MPO representitive Ms. Abby McClay will be at our regular business meeting(Sept. 14,2026 ) for us to visit Our town and learn more about your community’s unique transportation priorities and concerns.Please plan to attend your town hall facility for all community members to attend you are welcome to invite any who would like to be part of the conversation.

During the meeting, we’ll discuss your area’s top transportation needs, goals you hope to achieve through partnership with the MPO, and key challenges your community faces—including safety issues, congestion, or other mobility-related concerns. These meetings will be extremely valuable as we move forward and begin assessing potential locations for small area studies. The MPO is here to assist with transportation planning for each of its members including the Town of Cove City.

We are seeking feedback from residents in the Cove City and Dover areas to better understand your transportation needs.

If you live or work in these communities, please comment below with any transportation needs you have, such as:

🚍 Your work location
🕒 The time you need to arrive at work
🕔 The time you get off work
🏥 Transportation to doctor’s appointments or other essential destinations

Your feedback will help us identify the transportation needs within our community. As staffing levels improve, MOVING FORWARD CARTS will review the collected information to determine whether new or expanded transportation services can be provided.

Special Called Meeting at the Town Hall to discuss salaries for the new budget and appoint a board member to vacant board seat. The meeting will be held on June 10th at 6pm in the conference room at the Cove City Town Hall. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Town Hall at 252-633-1595 during regular business hours of 1pm to 5pm Monday thru Friday.

BUDGET HEARING ADVERTISEMENT

PUBLIC HEARING

The Proposed Budget, tax rate, and water/sewer rates for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 for the Town of Cove City has been presented to the Governing Body and is available for public inspection in the Town Hall from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays.
There will be a public hearing on June 1, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at Cove City Town Hall for the discussion and adoption of the proposed budget. Citizens are invited to make written or oral comments.

Maintenance Technician
Town of Cove City, NC
The Town of Cove City is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for installation, repair, and general maintenance of town facilities, streets, sewer and water systems, and town-owned properties. Work includes mowing and ground care, basic building repairs, sewer and stormwater maintenance, and assisting with equipment and vehicle upkeep. On-call duty is required.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid NC driver’s license
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in uneven terrain, and climb ladders
• Experience with general maintenance or utility work preferred
Starting Pay: $16.00/hour with benefits
Benefits: Health Insurance, NCLGERS Pension, personal time off (PTO), and federal holidays
