PUBLIC NOTICE
Town of Coushatta Water Department

To the Citizens of the Town of Coushatta:

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our area, with the potential for freezing rain, sleet, and extended sub-freezing temperatures. These conditions may affect water service infrastructure, including exposed lines, meters, and residential plumbing.

The Water Department is requesting that all residents take the following precautionary measures:

• Insulate all exposed pipes and protect outdoor plumbing fixtures.

• Allow faucets to drip slowly during periods of extreme cold to help prevent freezing.

• Ensure water meter lids remain closed and covered to reduce the risk of ice accumulation.

• Identify the location of your main water shutoff valve in case of an emergency.

• Report any visible leaks or water-related emergencies immediately.

For assistance or to report an issue, please contact the Water Department at:

318-716-0832 or 318-716-0235

Our crews will be actively monitoring the water system and are prepared to respond as conditions allow. Please be aware that hazardous weather may impact travel and response times; however, maintaining safe and reliable service remains our priority.

We appreciate your cooperation and preparedness as we work together to protect our community’s water infrastructure during this weather event.
