🚨💙❤️ EMS WEEK 2026 ❤️💙🚨
May 17 – May 23

This EMS Week, the Sacramento Regional Fire/EMS Communications Center proudly recognizes the dedicated dispatchers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and first responders who serve our communities every single day.

Behind every emergency response is a team working together — from the first 911 call to patient care on scene. Our dispatchers remain a vital link in the EMS Chain of Survival, providing calm, coordination, and lifesaving support when seconds matter most.

We invite our allied agencies and regional public safety partners to join us in celebrating the professionals behind the headset, behind the radio, and on the front lines.

đźš‘ Throughout EMS Week, we welcome our partner agencies to stop by the Communications Center to connect with our team, show support, and help recognize the incredible work being done throughout our region.

Thank you to all those who answer the call to serve. 🔥🎧🚒🚑

As dispatchers, we are proud to be your first voice, your constant support, and your partner behind the scenes. Every tone dropped, every update given, every unit tracked—we’re with you every step of the way.

đź’¬ To our firefighters:
Thank you for your strength, your dedication, and your devotion to duty!

đźš’ To our community:

Congratulations are in order! (AGAIN)

Firefighter Gonzalez has successfully passed his NREMT and is officially a nationally registered EMT.

Over the past 5 months, FF Gonzalez has dedicated his time to studying, attending class, and working a full time job. This is a huge accomplishment for him, and all of us at Courtland Fire are proud of his dedication, and look forward to his continued growth.

Congratulations, Firefighter/EMT Gonzalez.

This is our second volunteer in the past couple of weeks to earn their EMT license. We have a few more waiting to take their national test in the coming weeks.

All of us at Courtland Fire strive to provide the best care to our communities, and our firefighters are continuing to prove this by furthering their educations.

As always, we couldn’t do this with our supportive community.

Yesterday, at approximately 1230, your Courtland Firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 8685 Highway 160.

First arriving units reported a fully involved garage fire with extension into the living space. Command was established by BC91, and the fire was contained by all units on scene with no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

All of us at Courtland Fire appreciate the help from our neighboring agencies Sacramento Fire Department Cosumnes Fire Department and Clarksburg Fire Protection District.

It’s been a busy day for your Courtland Firefighters.

We have responded to 3 medical aids, and 1 outbuilding fire. Every incident was staffed with a full engine company, and our stations were back filled by dedicated volunteers.

We are proud to serve our community, and couldn’t do this without your continued support.

Have you thought about volunteering and or starting a career in the fire service? If so, reach out to us, we would love to get you started down a rewarding career path.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Deputy Caravallos family. Thank you for your service to Sacramento County.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Deputy Caravallos family. Thank you for your service to Sacramento County.

Earlier this morning, Deputy James Caravallo was tragically killed in a solo vehicle car crash on his way to work at Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center. Deputy Caravallo was a dedicated employee who proudly served our agency for 19 years.

Our hearts are with Deputy Caravallo’s family, and we ask the public to keep Deputy Caravallo’s loved ones and our Sheriff’s Office family in their thoughts and prayers.

Rest in peace, Deputy Caravallo. You will not be forgotten.
