Parent to Parent offers community resources, support in a variety of different ways, help to navigate systems and connections with other families with special needs. From learning your child has a disability through the adult years, the journey takes many different turns and twists. Parent to Parent is a nationwide organization that began here in Washington State. Parents have many questions and

concerns in coping with their child’s needs and their own feelings. Personal support from another parent, who has a child with similar needs, can be helpful in coping with these challenging experiences and feelings. Helping Parents (volunteer peer mentors) are available to provide support and information. Parent to Parent No Cost Services:

Many people with
intellectual and developmental disabilities receive support through Medicaid programs called Home and Community Based Services waivers, or waivers for short? Washington’s five DDA waivers currently support more than 25,000 people with I/DD to live and participate in their communities. Each of the five DDA waivers has its own menu of services and eligibility requirements.
