Dear Friends,
I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Mayor of Country Club Hills and ask for your support and vote in the April 7, 2015, consolidated election. I am both grateful and humbled to have this opportunity to run for office. I am looking forward to walking the campaign trail and sharing my vision for making Country Club Hills one of the premiere cities in the south suburbs. When I wa
s approached to run, I spent time in prayer with my family and in consultation with my mentors. I am now confident that my experience as Ward 5 Alderman, Chairman of the Finance Committee, successful business owner, and community advocate more than qualify me for the office of Mayor. A resident of Country Club Hills for more than twenty years, I am honored to have served our community under the guiding principle of always putting people first. As your Mayor, the vision I have for moving our community forward includes the following:
Eliminate Wasteful Spending: Eliminating wasteful spending must be the primary focus of all future budgets with an emphasis on fostering a stronger financial control environment, increasing transparency and accountability, as well as, ensuring that all expenditures are allocated efficiently. The citizens of Country Club Hills should always feel confident that their tax dollars are not being lost to waste, fraud, or abuse. Reduce Long-Term Debt: We must get serious about reforming our debt practices and greatly reducing our long-term debt obligations. Through targeted economic development initiatives, we can find more creative ways to balance our budget. Such initiatives would include strategies for increasing the local tax base and encouraging new businesses to establish themselves here in Country Club Hills. Improve Transparency and Accountability: It is time to move beyond the rhetoric of transparency and accountability and towards reimagining the relationship between you and City Hall. Encouraging greater community participation can go a long way towards driving more effective decision-making and efficient service delivery, sparking economic activity, and empowering citizens to take a more active role in improving our community. Committed to always putting people first, I am confident that I can move Country Club Hills forward into a brighter future; a future that reflects strong community, family values and leadership you can be proud of. I ask for your support and vote on April 7, 2015. Davis
