The Western Idaho FFA District held its annual Forestry Workshop the beginning of May and the majority of Council FFA Freshman members were in attendance. Students learned how to scale logs, use a compass and hone in on their tree identification skills. The event is held each year at the Brownlee Campground and is organized by Mrs. Robbins and the Payette National Forest. Thank you to all the volunteers, workers and students for attending.

Mrs Robbins’s Floriculture students snuck in a quick field trip before the end of the year to Council Mountain Flowers, a new flower farm in Council, Idaho owned and operated by Doug and Sheri Erickson and their family. Students were given a tour of the high tunnels, growing beds, flower cooler and so much more. Thank you Sheri for the fun adventure!

Council High School junior Elise Eppich is turning compassion into action—one quilt at a time.
Through her FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) project, appropriately named “HOPE,” Elise led an effort to create and donate handmade items to the Stanton pregnancy crisis center in Boise, Idaho. With the support of Council High School’s FCCLA chapter, she helped produce and donate more than ten baby and children’s quilts, along with burp cloths and receiving blankets.
Each piece was carefully crafted with the goal of providing comfort, warmth, and encouragement to families in need. Elise’s project not only showcased her sewing skills and creativity, but also highlighted her commitment to service and community outreach.
“HOPE” reflects the heart of FCCLA’s mission—making a difference through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Elise’s leadership inspired others in her chapter to contribute their time and talents, turning fabric and thread into meaningful gifts for new mothers and their babies.
Her work is a reminder that even small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. Through dedication and generosity, Elise Eppich has truly blessed & stitched hope into the lives of others.

💫 Last week's High School Student of the Week for RESPECT was Hattie N. Hattie was nominated by her teachers because she is quiet and follows the rules, works well with her peers, and stands up for them when needed (in a respectful manner). Way to go, Hattie! 💫

🌟 Last week's Jr. High Student of the Week for RESPECT was Bryson T! Bryson was nominated by his teachers because he is a genuinely respectful student who treats others respectfully every day. He’s always holding doors open, saying “please” and “thank you,” and showing kindness without being asked. He sets a great example for other students. Great job, Bryson!🌟
