It was an awesome day of computer science and celebrating Hour of Code/ CS Ed Week in Woodbine Community School District today! 5th and 6th grade students designed and facilitated hands-on learning stations with a variety of computing devices, and then invited PK-4th grade students to come participate and learn with them. What an amazing sight to see a gym full of students immersed in CS activities! Shout out to WCSD teachers Shawna Harris and Kyle Bartels for your dedication to computer science education!
What an exciting day at WCSD! Our PreK-4 students participated in the Hour of Code, where they engaged in hands-on learning with amazing devices like BeeBots, Finch Robots, and Sphero Bolts! A huge shoutout to our 5/6 students and teachers Shawna Harris and Kyle Bartels for hosting this event in the HS gymnasium! A special thank you to Heather Lundquist with GHAEA and her support. With Iowa being one of the top 10 states in Computer Science, weโre proud to provide our students with these unique experiences that many districts canโt offer.
