Wishing all the goblins fun and safety tonight while they trick or treat for goodies 🎃👻🎃

Some trick or treat safety tips to keep in mind:

🎃 Drivers, Be Alert! - Slow down and be especially alert in residential neighborhoods. Children are excited on Halloween and may move in unpredictable ways.

🎃 Go only into familiar neighborhoods, and stop only at houses that are well lit.

🎃 Check Your Porch Lights - If you are wanting children to come to your door, turn on that light and if you aren't, don't forget to shut it off.

🎃 Carry flashlights and use reflective tape on clothing and bags.

🎃 Homeowners: Only give out commercially wrapped snacks.
Keep pets inside.. costumes and loud noises may scare them.

🎃Treats look suspicious? When in doubt, throw it out.

The Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office and K9 Lycan would like to give a huge thank you to The Animal Clinic of Council Bluffs and Dr. Melissa Harrer. K9 Lycan was recently diagnosed with Inflamatory Bowel Disease and required prescription dog food. Dr. Harrer generously offered to donate the food. The new food has made an incredible difference in K9 Lycan's overall health and his ability to protect the citizens of Pottawattamie County.

We would like to congratulate our most recent graduates for their hard work over the last few weeks.

Not only did they have to get used to living in Iowa, the aspects of the job, but they also had to get used to their new human partners. Our newest K9’s successfully passed their certification this week and will be hitting the street soon.
