Navigation Notice: HARVEY H. HANNAH BRIDGE REPAIR EMORY RIVER MILE 12.1

Beginning September 5, 2026 and continuing through December 1, 2026, Mid-State Construction Co, Inc. will begin onsite work for the Harvey H. Hannah Bridge repair at Emory River Mile 12.1, Pansy Hill Rd in Harriman, TN. Crews will be using a Hydra Platform for under bridge concrete repairs to the bridge diaphragms.

Dive crews will also be conducting scow repairs during the weekends on piers 1 and 2 throughout this time. Mariners should expect to see one commercial dive vessel marked with proper “Diver Down” flagging and Marine Channel 13/16 will be monitored during working hours.

Work will be in progress intermittently, 7 days per week from 7:00am to 4:00pm EDT until the scheduled completion on December 1.

During non-working hours, equipment will be stored on the bridge or off site.

All mariners please use caution when transiting the area during this time.

FORT LOUDOUN LOCK: As expected, the hard chargin' Bearcat has been locking upbound this morning with three empties and departed upbound to Knoxville as of 11AM. FORT LOUDOUN LOCK: The Bearcat was spotted earlier this evening headed our way amidst another amazing cinnamon sky. The Captain & crew will have some tow work to do tonight at the "Madhouse" (Fort Loudon Terminal), which is immediately downstream from the lock & then will likely lay up for the remainder of the evening around Marble Bluff. Tomorrow morning we should see them navigate upstream to lock through at Fort Loudoun Lock before heading onward to Knoxville once again. Always on the move! Go Bearcat! Toot! FORT LOUDOUN LOCK: The Kelly Lee began locking first thing this morning & is on target to be heading downriver toward Watts Bar Lock as expected in the approximate timeframe of 9:30AM. Recreational boaters should have little or no delays for the remainder of the day. 👊 Another gorgeous sunrise 🌄 & morning on the Tennessee River!

FORT LOUDOUN LOCK: Here's the Kelly Lee departing Knoxville this evening headed back downriver with intentions of beginning to lock through at Fort Loudoun Lock tomorrow morning at 7AM with one empty barge. Recreational boaters needing to lock through at Fort Loudoun Lock earlier in the day on Monday, 8/31, are encouraged to CALL THE LOCK operator on duty tomorrow to confirm lock availability. - Photo credit to James Garrison! FORT LOUDOUN LOCK: The Motor Vessel, Kelly Lee was spotted this morning at TRM 591.0 (11.3 river miles downstream from the lock) headed upbound toward Fort Loudoun Lock on her way to Knoxville pushing just one barge after dropping three barges at their terminal in Chattanooga. FORT LOUDOUN LOCK: The Bearcat returned from Knoxville earlier today & is now busy locking down 5 loads of scrap metal. We encourage recreational boaters to call the lock operator on duty at 865-986-2762 - Option 1 if you need to lock through this afternoon while the Bearcat is locking.
