🕺 💃 🪩 I want to take a moment to reach out to the students of Cotulla High School. Tonight is your Prom, and I want to wish each and every one of you a night that is both fun and unforgettable.
I know how much hard work goes into getting ready for this event, and you’ve earned the right to celebrate. My main priority is making sure that every student who heads out to the dance tonight makes it back home safely.
To make sure the night stays a positive memory,
I’m asking you to keep these safety tips in mind:

• Your Ride Matters: Please, never get behind the wheel if you suspect the driver is impaired If you find yourself stuck, call a parent, a guardian, or a trusted adult. No questions asked is better than a tragedy.

• Seatbelts are Non-Negotiable: You’ve spent a lot of money on those suits and dresses, but a seatbelt is the most important thing you’ll wear tonight. Buckle up every time the car moves.

• Put the Phone Down: I know you’ll be taking plenty of photos and videos, but please wait until you’re parked. Distracted driving only takes a split second to change your life forever.

• Watch Out for Each Other: Stick with your friends. If someone looks like they’re in a bad situation or needs help, step up and look out for them.

I am proud of our local students, and I want to see you all continue to succeed.

Have a great time tonight, stay smart, and stay safe.

‼️ Public Safety Advisory: Inclement Weather
La Salle County Constable’s Office, Pct. 3
Constable Carlos Benavides

With rain currently affecting our area, I would like to urge all residents and travelers in La Salle County to exercise extreme caution on the roadways. Wet pavement and reduced visibility significantly increase the risk of accidents.
To ensure your safety and the safety of others, please keep the following tips in mind:

• Reduce Your Speed: Hydroplaning can occur even at lower speeds. Give yourself extra time to reach your destination.

• Increase Following Distance: Braking distances increase on wet roads. Maintain a safe gap between you and the vehicle ahead.

• Headlights On: Ensure your headlights are on to increase your visibility to other drivers.

• Avoid Standing Water: Do not attempt to drive through flooded areas or deep puddles; you can easily lose control of your vehicle.

Our office remains committed to your safety.

Please stay alert, stay safe, and let’s look out for one another on the road.

⚠️ OFFICIAL PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT ⚠️

FROM THE OFFICE OF LA SALLE COUNTY CONSTABLE PCT. 3 — CARLOS BENAVIDES

I have received several reports from community members regarding suspicious phone calls claiming they are being "civilly served." Please be aware that these are SCAM CALLS designed to steal your personal information and money.

Our office wants to ensure you know the facts and how to protect yourself:

❌ NO SERVICE BY PHONE: Under Texas law, legal papers cannot be served over a simple phone call. Official service must be done in person or via certified mail.

❌ NO PAYMENTS OVER THE PHONE: A Constable or Deputy will NEVER ask you for payment via gift cards, wire transfers, or apps like Zelle or Venmo to "settle" a case or avoid arrest.

❌ URGENT THREATS: Scammers use high-pressure tactics and threats of immediate jail time to scare you. Don't fall for it!

🛡️ HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF:

1. HANG UP: Do not provide any personal info or banking details.

2. VERIFY THE SOURCE: If someone claims to be from a court, hang up and call the La Salle County Clerk or the Justice of the Peace office directly to verify.

3. REPORT IT: If you receive one of these calls, please report it to local law enforcement.
Your safety and security are my top priority.

Please share this post with your friends and neighbors in La Salle County to help spread the word!
