🎉 28+ YEARS, COUNTLESS HOURS & FINALLY… RETIREMENT! 🎉

After more than 28 years in public service, Captain Jay Whitney of the Chase County Detention Center is hanging up his badge and officially entering the “What day is it? Doesn’t matter, I’m retired” phase of life! 🥳

And around Chase County, we all know 28+ years of service comes with A LOT of stories, memories, coworkers, characters, and probably a few stories that are best left untold!

Please join us as we celebrate Captain Whitney and thank him for more than 28 years of dedication and service to our community.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! The Prairie Grove Cemetery on the Lake Road in Cottonwood Falls is in need of a Clean up, mainly pulling all of the artificial flowers from around the headstones so that adequate weedeating can be done & we need extra volunteers to get this done! We are planning a clean up day on October 17th from 9am-noon, Please comment below if you are able to help, we recommend volunteers bring gloves! THANK YOU SO MUCH, HELP US SPREAD THE WORD PLEASE!

Today I got to help award Chase County Fire Dept the State Farm Grant. They are using the $10,000 to purchase a thermal camera to mount on the front of a brush truck. Pictured left is Brad Talkington firefighter, far right Steve Fillmore County Fire Chief
