Stay weather aware!

Scattered to numerous storms are expected to develop over much of the region for this afternoon into the evening hours. Some of the storms could become severe with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. A few tornadoes are possible late this afternoon and early evening.

At about 10:15 a.m., some American legion riders will be going through Strong City and then Cottonwood Falls on a charity ride. Feel free to line the roads and show them some love.

It seems this handsome pup decided to show up for duty at the Sheriff’s Office today! 🐾 Unfortunately, while enthusiasm is appreciated, we haven’t been able to verify any law enforcement credentials.

We’re hoping to reunite this friendly visitor with its owner. If this dog belongs to you, contact the Sheriff’s Office!

Please share and help us get this furry recruit back home. 🐶🏠

☀️ SUMMER SAFETY TIP: TAKE CARE OF YOUR MIND, TOO! ☀️

Summer is a time for swimming, bike rides, vacations, and making memories—but it’s also important to remember that children’s mental health matters year-round.

While you’re reminding kids to wear their helmets and sunscreen, don’t forget to check in on how they’re feeling, too. A simple conversation, extra quality time, or a fun family activity can make a big difference.

🚲 Stay active
🌳 Spend time outdoors
📵 Take breaks from screens
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Connect with family and friends
💬 Talk about feelings openly
😴 Get plenty of sleep

We know that some of the strongest communities are built when we look out for one another. This summer, let’s make sure our children feel safe, supported, and heard.

Because healthy minds are just as important as healthy bodies.

🚨MYSTERY PACKAGE OWNER FOUND🚨
• Everyone still missing wandering packages, we hope they make it to you safe & sound!

📦 MYSTERY PACKAGE ALERT 📦

It appears a package took a slight detour and ended up with the right house, but not the right recipient. The package has since been turned in to the Sheriff’s Office, and we’re hoping to reunite it with its owner!

As many of us know, UPS and FedEx occasionally play a game of “close enough” when it comes to deliveries, and we’re hoping the rightful owner will see this post!

If you are expecting a package that seems to have vanished into the delivery abyss, please contact the Sheriff’s Office. Be prepared to tell us what’s inside so we can make sure you are the lucky winner.

Thank you to the honest resident who turned the package in. And thank you in advance to our community for helping us track down its owner. 📦

We’re thinking about doing more contests/giveaways …but we’re not doing it without hearing from YOU first.
Would you like to see more of this from the Sheriff’s Office?

👍 Yes, please!
❤️ Absolutely—we’re ready!
All other answers are unacceptable 😉
💬 Got ideas or prize suggestions? Don’t hold out on us—drop them in the comments!

We’re here to serve and connect with our community so we figured we might as well start having a little fun along the way.
