The Grace Period, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering adults and families in St. Charles County who are struggling to afford stable housing. Our mission is to guide them towards self-sufficiency through transitional housing, high accountability, education, and goal setting, all provided by a compassionate, faith-based team of staff and volunteers. Founded in 2019, T
he Grace Period was established to fill the critical gap in transitional housing services in our community. We offer expense-free, transitional living and case management, working closely with individuals and families to achieve permanent, safe, and affordable housing. Our program features three tiers tailored to the needs of those we serve. Initially, we provide housing where rent and utilities are covered, and participants start our financial program. After an assessment, they begin the 7 dimensions in the School of Shalom. In the second tier, residents move towards self-sufficiency as we phase out rent and utility assistance, teaching them to manage their own household and budget for expenses. The third tier focuses on continued self-sufficiency and finding permanent housing. This process typically spans a year, culminating in residents securing their own homes.
