Please give our bus drivers patience and understanding during the first few weeks of school as bus routes settle in during the road construction projects happening near many of our schools.

Buses may run late at times, but our drivers are working hard to get students to and from school safely.

At the district’s school kickoff, students from across the district came together to share what it means to be stronger together. Their words reminded us of the power of kindness, teamwork, and supporting one another.

Join us for our Meet & Greet on Wednesday, September 2, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.! 💚🖤🤍

Whether you missed our August 27 event or just want another chance to get ready for the school year, come on by! You’ll have the opportunity to:

•Pick up your student’s schedule
•Find classrooms and learn the lay of the land
•Practice opening lockers, get them organized, and add supplies (because locker combinations are basically a middle school rite of passage!)
•Tour our brand-new addition and check out what’s new at Oltman
•Get help accessing Schoology and other online resources
•Find information about PTO, sports, after-school activities, and other school opportunities
•Connect—or reconnect—with other Raiders
•Meet your teachers!

Today is the Raider Back-to-School Kickoff!

Thursday, August 27, from 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

Whether you’re brand new to Oltman or already know the hallways by heart, this is a great chance to get comfortable, get organized, and get excited for the year ahead.

At Raider Ready day, students and families can:
Pick up student schedules
Find classrooms and learn the lay of the land
Practice opening lockers, set them up and add supplies (because locker combinations are basically a middle school rite of passage!)
Tour our brand-new addition and check out what’s new at Oltman
Set up Schoology accounts
Find information about PTO, sports, after-school activities, and other school information
Connect (or reconnect) with other Raiders

**PLEASE NOTE: Teachers will not be at the Raider Kickoff**

NEW THIS YEAR!
School pictures will be taken in the gym throughout the event. Taking pictures before the school year begins means no gym hair, no mysterious lunch stains on shirts, and—best of all—fewer disruptions to the academic day once school starts!
One important fashion tip: leave the green at home! Green clothing will blend into the photo background, which could result in a very cool floating-head effect...but probably not the school picture you’re hoping for. (And yes, we’d need to retake it for the yearbook. 😉)

Can’t make it on August 27? No worries! You’ll have another opportunity to pick up schedules, find classrooms, practice lockers, and tour our new addition—PLUS meet your teachers!—at our Meet & Greet on Wednesday, September 2, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. If you're worried about missing school pictures, don't sweat it! Picture Retake/Makeup Day will be October 1.

EVERYONE Should Apply for Educational Benefits!

Every family with children enrolled in SoWashCo Schools is encouraged to apply for Educational Benefits, formerly known as ‘Free and Reduced Lunch,’ through their School Café account every school year.

Households that qualify will receive discounted or free services both in and out of school. Even if a family does not qualify, their completed application could provide additional funding for their child’s school.
