Thanks to all the Marianne Williamson supporters who have given We Party Populists a peek. Although the WPP Platform predates Marianne’s candidacy, most of its parts come from that same place of love, respect, inclusion, and even honest self-reflection. Here’s an example:

Many are willing to say, “God bless America.”
But how many can say without reservation
“God bless all Americans” and mean it?
What is the thing that ties our tongues?
A force has been crafted to dehumanize
It is the power of hatred and vitriol
It is emotional manipulation with an agenda
It is using absolutism to overcome logic and compassion
Why? To keep power
To deflect attention while billionaires suck the life
Out of democracy
They don’t want government to protect our water
They don’t want government to care for the infirm
They are , diminishing America’s greatness
But they are the minority
Love will defeat them
Because
Honor will defeat them
Because justice is what America was founded on
It really is a 99% vs. 1% battle
Where the 1% has succeeded in keeping the 99%
Fighting each other not them
But a force is rising
Honor will save us from hypocrisy
Love will save us from judgement
Truth will save us from tyranny
And an inclusive vision
Will save America from its darkest hour
And point us towards
Our best possible future

We support Marianne Williamson in her campaign for the Democratic nomination for President. We feel that Marianne represents something bigger than her campaign. She will be the face of a movement that lasts longer than her campaign, and with luck even her presidency. Love should be the guiding force behind politics. With it comes justice, inclusion, compassion, and vision. If those attributes are unfettered by duties to enrich secret or overt donors, politics can work for the greatest number of people, not just billionaires. This is the sentiment that civilization itself needs to embrace if we are to make it to the 22nd century. Climate challenges, resource scarcity, climate-induced migration, and the wars that these things may bring need to be approached from a perspective beyond capitalism. The brand of capitalism will cripple the human race. When America’s politics are dominated by justice and compassion, our form of capitalism can be modified so that huge corporations act as partners of society, working towards the best interests of us all, not just padding the bottom line for the next quarter. My hope is that Nov. 6, 2020 will be seen by future generations as our , when we broke the downward cycle inflicted by those willing to to retain power, even if the cost is diminishing much of her greatness.

It’s time to call out the Christian and political leaders who practice a Swiss-cheese version of Christianity. It has holes where the Golden Rule and “Judge Not...” should be. And to those “born again” evangelicals who fall in line on this I say: Birth-wise, maybe the third time is the charm. Be a and show how the grace of Christianity can lead to a rebuking of the hatred, division, and fear that have been weaponized by the GOP. They are pious with a corporate bias, with fealty only to CEOs and billionaires.
