❤️🤍💙 Happy Memorial Day! Today we honor the brave men and women who served our country with courage and sacrifice. This day is an opportunity to help young children learn about kindness, gratitude, and helping others in age-appropriate ways.

Here are a few meaningful ways to recognize Memorial Day with your students:

🎨 Art Projects: Invite children to create “Kindness Stars” to thank community helpers and service members or design handprint wreaths to symbolize remembrance and unity.

🎶 Music and Songs: Sing songs like “This Little Light of Mine” to encourage community, pride, and togetherness.

💬 Class Discussions: Talk about what it means to help and care for others. Ask children questions like, “How can we show gratitude?” or “What does it mean to be brave?”

Let’s use this day to nurture gratitude and respect while helping children understand the importance of honoring and remembering others.

The OC Parks Summer Concert and Sunset Cinema series is back! 🎶🌅

The Concert Series returns with 9 outdoor concerts on Thursday evenings, July 9 to September 3, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. 🎤

The Sunset Cinema film series has 12 films mixed with new releases and beloved classics. The screenings are on Friday evenings, June 5 to August 28, starting at 6:00 p.m. 🎬

All events are family-friendly, along with free admission and free parking. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🚗
