🌩️ Severe Weather Update – Friday Night Through Saturday 🌧️

We continue to monitor an active weather pattern that will bring multiple rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms to our area Friday night through Saturday.

⚠️ Primary Hazards:

🌧️ Localized flash flooding
💨 Strong to damaging wind gusts
🌪️ A low chance of isolated spin-up tornadoes

Heavy rainfall over the same locations could quickly lead to flooding of low-lying areas and roadways. Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown! Never drive through flooded roads.

🌡️ Looking Ahead

Once this system moves out, heat and humidity will rapidly build next week, with heat index values climbing into the triple digits for several days. If you have outdoor plans, be sure to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks, and check on vulnerable family members, neighbors, and pets.

🌦️ Weather Update – Friday, June 26 🌦️

Please stay weather-aware today as multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected to move through our area this afternoon and evening. Some storms may become strong to severe, bringing the potential for:

⛈️ Damaging winds
🌧️ Heavy rainfall
🌊 Localized flash flooding
⚡ Frequent lightning

The flooding threat will continue into Saturday, especially in areas that receive repeated rounds of heavy rain. If you encounter a flooded roadway, Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Just a few inches of moving water can be dangerous.

Looking ahead, our focus will shift from storms to dangerous heat. Heat and humidity will build across the region next week, with heat index values reaching the triple digits for multiple days.

Be sure to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, and check on family, friends, neighbors, and pets.

Storms are currently moving across southern Indiana and northern Kentucky and will continue through the evening hours.

Looking ahead to Friday, multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to move in from the west during the morning and continue through the afternoon and evening.

⚠️ Main Hazards:

* 🌧️ Localized Flash Flooding: Areas that receive multiple rounds of storms may experience heavy rainfall and flash flooding, especially where storms repeatedly move over the same locations.

* ⛈️ Severe Storm Potential: Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Friday afternoon, with the greatest risk currently expected across southwest Indiana.

🌦️ Weekend Outlook:
Rain is expected to continue Friday night, with additional chances for showers and thunderstorms lingering throughout the weekend.

Good Morning!

Flash flooding and isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible at times beginning this evening and continuing into the weekend.

The first round of showers and thunderstorms is expected to develop late this afternoon and continue through the evening across southern Indiana and northern Kentucky. The strongest storms may produce:

🌧️ Localized heavy rainfall
💨 Gusty to damaging winds

With multiple rounds of rain expected over the next several days, localized flash flooding may become a concern, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Never drive through flooded roadways—Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

Now is a great time to:
✔️ Stay weather aware.
✔️ Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings.

🌦️ Weather Update: Potential Flooding and Severe Storms Late This Week into the Weekend 🌩️

Good Afternoon,

We want to make everyone aware of two potential weather threats that could impact our area from Thursday through the weekend.

🌧️ Flash Flooding Potential (Thursday Afternoon – Weekend)

A stalled weather system is expected to bring multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms, which could result in heavy rainfall over the same areas.

• Localized rainfall totals of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are possible, with isolated locations receiving more than 3 inches.

• The greatest concern for significant localized flash flooding is along and north of the Western Kentucky and Blue Grass Parkways.
• Most of our region is currently under a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 4) for excessive rainfall from Friday into the weekend.

• A Flash Flood Watch may be issued later this week.

⛈️ Severe Weather Potential (Thursday – Friday)

Thursday:
• A Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather is in place, mainly along and north of the I-64 corridor.
• The primary threats will be damaging wind gusts and large hail.

Friday:
• Another round of strong to severe storms is possible, although confidence in the timing and coverage remains lower at this time.

⚠️ Now is a great time to review your severe weather safety plan and stay weather aware as forecasts continue to evolve. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as additional information becomes available.

Good Afternoon,

We have a couple of important roadway updates for Harrison County residents:

✅ Highway 211 has reopened as of Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

⚠️ State Road 11 (SR 11) is scheduled to close on Monday, June 29, 2026. Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time as detours may be in place.

We will continue to share updates as additional information becomes available.

Disaster Relief Now Available for Many Hoosiers

Governor Mike Braun has declared a disaster emergency for 63 Indiana counties impacted by severe weather, flooding, tornadoes and the June derecho.

If your primary residence was damaged and you are uninsured or underinsured, you may be eligible for up to $25,000 through Indiana's State Disaster Relief Fund to help with recovery.

-Assistance is available for eligible homeowners
-Applications are now open
-Additional counties may qualify as damage assessments continue

The State Disaster Relief Fund applies only to individuals who are uninsured or underinsured. State funding cannot replace insurance coverage, which is the primary and best source of protection from storm damage. The fund only addresses the costs of repairing, replacing or restoring property that is the primary residence of the applicant, and cannot be used to help pay insurance deductibles.
