CVFD is participating in “Light the Night” during National Fallen Firefighters Week. We encourage everyone to join us by lighting a red light this week as we pay respect to the firefighters who paid the ultimate price in service to their communities, including Clay County’s own, Roy Smith and Errett Miller.

The Bible tells us that “ to everything, there is a season , and a time for every purpose under Heaven”
In October of 2018, it became the season for me to serve CVFD as Chief. This has been an absolute pleasure, although sometimes became very hectic. But, as with every season, it comes to an end.
That being said, I have officially stepped down as Chief of CVFD.
There are a lot of achievements that I’m proud of, but none have made me more proud than the service that CVFD has been able to provide to the people of Perry Twp. The credit for that lies solely on the shoulders of the men and women who don the turnout gear and strap on the helmets of CVFD. This Twp is blessed to have these people who are willing to respond when called upon. I feel fortunate to say that my time as Chief has had more pleasure than pain, more pride than disappointment.
As for me, I’ll just go back to being a member of the best department in the county.
The leadership of CVFD is turned over to the capable hands of my Assistant Chief, Aaron Morgan. Thanks so much to the department that has put their faith and trust in me to be their leader.
