Congratulations to the graduating Class of 2026 from Corvallis High School, Crescent Valley High School, and College Hill High School! 🎓🎉

This year, the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation Grants and Scholarships Committee awarded 21 scholarships totaling $22,950 to 17 graduating seniors. Thank you to the generous donors who make these opportunities possible.

We were also excited to partner once again with the Gillott Home Team to help celebrate graduates with senior yard signs throughout our community. Thank you, Gillott, for continuing this special tradition!

As the Class of 2026 prepares to walk across the stage in just a few short hours, we celebrate their hard work, achievements, and bright futures ahead. Congratulations, graduates! We are proud of all you've accomplished and thankful to the donors, volunteers, educators, families, and community partners who have supported you along the way.

We are devastated by the passing of our Board Chair, Leslie Hammond, this past weekend. Leslie served as a Trustee for the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation since 2022 and as our Chair since 2024. She was deeply committed to public education and truly believed in its power to transform lives. It is what inspired her to volunteer on our Board and work tirelessly to provide critical resources for all Corvallis students.

Known for her sharp wit, incredible leadership, and signature bow-ties, Leslie was truly one of a kind and will be dearly missed. Our hearts are with her family and all who were lucky enough to know her.

The LBCC community mourns the loss of Leslie Hammond, Dean of Academic Foundations. In many ways Leslie was the ideal Roadrunner, embodying the college she loved so much - a thoughtful and supportive colleague, a savvy and adept problem-solver, a relentlessly positive champion of our student-centered mission. Her personality, wit, compassion, and intelligence will be profoundly missed.

Plans for memorial services are in process and will be announced soon, along with details on a LBCC Foundation fund for donations in her honor.

Last month, the community gathered at Crescent Valley High School for a tailgate-style celebration to mark a historic milestone: the first CV baseball league home opener played “under the lights.”

This event celebrated the significant investment in our students through the installation of field lighting at Crescent Valley baseball and softball fields, as well as Corvallis High School softball fields.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Tim and Allison Sissel for their transformative gift which will provide safe, competitive, and equitable opportunities for all students. Their leadership and generosity is truly inspirational. We are honored to partner with the Sissel family on this investment, which will benefit our students today, and for generations to come!
