𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗨𝗽, 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

The 𝐔.𝐒. 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 will treat the 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 with lampricides between May 19–28, 2026 to control invasive 𝐬𝐞𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐞. Larvae become parasites that threaten fish populations in the Great Lakes.

𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, trained personnel may conduct on-site 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐝𝐲𝐞𝐬 that 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧.

This treatment is essential to protect the Great Lakes fish.
