Chalk the Walk for Su***de Prevention & Awareness!

This September, SPEAK UP Cortland is inviting our community to help spread messages of hope, encouragement, kindness, and connection - one sidewalk at a time.

Grab some chalk, find a sidewalk, and create a message that might brighten someone’s day or remind them that they’re not alone. Then snap a photo of your creation and share it with us on Facebook by September 30th!

📸 Tag SPEAK UP Cortland and use so we can see and share your chalk art.

And there’s a little extra fun this year! Thanks to BRU 64, three participants will each receive a $20 gift card for:
• Most Thoughtful
• Most-Liked on Facebook
• Most Creative

Whether you chalk one small message or cover the whole sidewalk, we’d love to see Cortland filled with reminders of hope this September.

Grab your chalk and help us Chalk the Walk!

Planning ways you can support yourself during this day can help your grief feel less overwhelming in the moment. Consider reaching out to friends for company or taking frequent breaks from any social media or news coverage.
