🏹 PROGRAM CANCELLATION — ARCHERY & BB GUNS 🎯

Unfortunately, due to the rain and weather conditions, today’s 1:00 PM Archery & BB Guns program at Mosquito Lake State Park has been CANCELED.

For the safety of our participants, volunteers, and equipment, we’ve decided it’s best to cancel today’s program.

🌧️ We appreciate everyone’s understanding! Please continue to check our page and program website for updates on other programs scheduled for today, as plans may change depending on the weather.

We’ll get those bows and BB guns back out another day! 🏹🎯

🌧️ WEATHER REMINDER FOR TODAY 🌧️

With rain moving into the area today, some programs at Mosquito Lake State Park may need to be altered, delayed, or canceled due to weather conditions.

Please check back here on Facebook or visit our program website before heading out.

We will do our best to post any changes no later than one hour before the scheduled program, and earlier whenever possible, to give everyone adequate time to plan.

As always, the safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff comes first.

Thanks for understanding, and hopefully Mother Nature cooperates with us today!

🌳 Saturday at Mosquito Lake State Park! 🦉🔥🎯🐦

We have a full Saturday planned at the park, and there’s something happening from breakfast all the way into the evening!

🏡 Nature Center Hours Saturday: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

☕🐦 Breakfast with the Birds | 8:00–9:00 AM
Start your morning with birdwatching, free coffee and donuts while supplies last, and some great company at the Nature Center Complex. Beginners are absolutely welcome!

🏹 Archery & BB Gun First Shot Program | 1:00–2:00 PM
Come learn the basics of archery and BB guns with our naturalist and volunteers. All equipment is provided, and waivers will be available on site. Please remember: no open-toed shoes, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

🦉 Owl Prowl at Mosquito Lake | 6:30 PM
Discover the owls that call Ohio home! We’ll start with owl pellet dissection and a short presentation before heading through the campground to listen and look for barred owls.

🔥🌭 Campfire Potluck | 7:30 PM
Finish the evening around the fire! Bring your camp chair and your favorite campfire food—hot dogs, s’mores, hobo pies, popcorn, or whatever you’d like. Bring enough for yourself or something to share. We’ll provide the campfire—you bring the fun! And bring your snack up on the deck as we cheer on the Buckeyes against the Longhorns! GO BUCKEYES! 🏈🌰

Join us under the tent on the Nature Center deck to cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes! ❤️🏈

🍿 FREE POPCORN provided by the Friends of Mosquito Lake State Park while you watch the game!

⛈️🎣 PROGRAM CANCELLATION — GET HOOKED ON FISHING 🎣⛈️

Unfortunately, due to thunderstorm warnings in the area, tonight's Get Hooked on Fishing program scheduled for 5:00 PM has been CANCELED.

We know it's disappointing when Mother Nature doesn't cooperate, but the safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff will always come first—especially when we're spending time near the water.

🎣 Don't worry, there will be plenty more opportunities to get out and wet a line with us!

Stop in and explore the Nature Center! Check out our wildlife displays, explore hands-on activities, watch the bird feeders, learn about some of the amazing animals that call Mosquito Lake home, and see what’s new at the park.

Whether you have five minutes or an hour, there is always something to discover!

Then, after the Nature Center closes, stick around because our evening adventure begins…

📍 Meet at the Mosquito Lake Nature Center

Join us as we discover the incredible owls that call Ohio home! We’ll learn about the adaptations that make owls such amazing nighttime predators before heading outside to listen and look for wild owls around Mosquito Lake.

Bring comfortable walking shoes and your sense of adventure. Flashlights are welcome, but we’ll try to keep them off as much as possible while searching for owls.

🌧️ SATURDAY NIGHT MOVIE CANCELLED 🎬

We’re sorry to announce that due to the rain and wet conditions, tonight’s Saturday Night Movie at the Mosquito Lake State Park Campground has been cancelled.

We apologize for the disappointment and appreciate everyone’s understanding. Mother Nature just isn’t cooperating with us tonight!
