Please be aware of the additional severe weather that will be affecting our this evening. These storms are expected to produce high winds, dangerous lightning, and possibly hail. Now is the time to prepare. Also our department personnel will more than likely be handling numerous trees and wires down during and after this storm. If you report a hazard we will address it in due course but it may take some time depending on what hazard takes priority. If you see any caution tape blocking a roadway, please do not travel under or through it. The caution tape is there for your safety.

A very strong line of thunderstorms extending from Detroit to Toledo is expected to track southeast across Lake Erie towards Cleveland. Numerous reports of downed trees have been received. Winds of 60-70 mph will be possible with these thunderstorms. Be prepared to move indoors if a Warning is issued for your area!

Please stay hydrated and limit your time outdoors. If you do need to be outdoors, take frequent breaks in the shade or in an air conditioned home or vehicle.

One more day of elevated temperatures and heat indices across Central and Northwestern Ohio. Temperatures out there will be in the low to mid 90s with a heat index in the mid 90s to low 100s. More seasonable temperatures expected starting tomorrow.

THAT’S A WRAP!!! The 2026 Trumbull County Fair is in the books. It was an eventful week for our department and our personnel. We faced a number of challenges, treated lots of patients, performed standby for numerous events, the presence of Canadian wild fire smoke and potential for severe weather; all in addition to responding to our township emergencies that included a significant gas leak on Niles-Cortland Rd.

We want to thank our residents for their attendance to the fair and for supporting our department and personnel. We got to meet several residents and had lots of little ones asking about our equipment.

We also want to acknowledge our partners and additional resources for their assistance during the fair.
