What a wonderful afternoon celebrating the citizens who help make Corsicana a stronger community.

The City's Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon brought together board members, community leaders, and volunteers for an afternoon of gratitude, reflection, and recognition. Attendees heard updates on the State of the City from Mayor Joe Hill, enjoyed a keynote presentation from Katharine Hable, and celebrated the many individuals who dedicate their time and talents to serving Corsicana.

Who likes giveaways? We do! Especially when it raises money for preservations grants like the Anice Read grant with Texas Downtown And this year, every $50 pledge puts your name in the hat to win a travel package to Downtown Georgetown or Downtown Denison!
DID YOU KNOW? The Anice Read grant helped Corsicana Main Street and Parks and Rec construct the Beaton Market Place park in 2016? Thanks to this grant, we were able to add more public restrooms for downtown. Now that's worth a yee haw!!!

Welcome to May, Y'all! Which means it’s officially Preservation Month and also the perfect time to do something good for Texas downtowns while giving yourself a very solid excuse to win an award-winning getaway.

Here’s the deal. Texas Downtown is celebrating all month long by inviting you to “Pony Up for Preservation". A $50 donation to the Anice Read Fund supports grants for TXD members and gets your name entered to win one of two seriously tempting downtown experiences.

We’re talking about trips worth clearing your calendar for. Think a two-night stay in Georgetown with a basket full of Texas goodies, or a Denison escape complete with a downtown loft stay, local dining, coffee, and a stash of hometown merch. These prize packages come courtesy of last year’s TXD President's Award Winners for Best Texas Downtowns, below and above 50K population, Discover Denison and Visit Georgetown, Texas.

Every $50 donation during May is another chance to win, and more importantly, another investment in the future of Texas downtowns.
