Welcoming the Corpus Christi Procession Today! 💙

Today is the day! We are excited to welcome everyone to Mother Teresa Shelter later this afternoon as we gather for the Feast of Corpus Christi Procession.

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ is a beautiful celebration of Christ's presence in the Eucharist and a reminder of our call to love, serve, and walk together in faith.

Following Mass at the Cathedral, the Eucharistic Procession will journey through downtown Corpus Christi in prayer and worship, stopping along the way at Mother Teresa Shelter. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ & Consecration of the New Cathedral Altar

Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi and Mother Teresa Shelter are honored to once again welcome the Diocese of Corpus Christi’s Eucharistic Procession on Thursday, June 4, 2026. ✨

Following Mass at Corpus Christi Cathedral and the consecration of the new cathedral altar, the faithful will process through downtown Corpus Christi in prayer and worship as a public witness to the Real Presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

We are especially grateful that the procession will once again stop at Mother Teresa Shelter — a meaningful reminder that Christ is present not only in the Eucharist, but also in our call to serve our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and love.

Please join us in praying for the repose of the soul of Bishop Gracida and for all who mourn his passing.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bishop Emeritus René Henry Gracida. He served as the fifth Bishop of the Diocese of Corpus Christi from 1983 until 1997. We are deeply grateful for his faithful service as our shepherd of 14 years. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.
