HAPPENING: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16: The City of Corpus Christi invites residents to participate in its final Community Water Information Session. It will be held in District 2 at the Lindale Senior Center, 3135 Swantner Drive, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

During the session, the City Manager and Corpus Christi Water staff will be available to answer residents’ questions and provide updates on the City’s water supply efforts.

Citizens from any city council district are welcome to attend.

It's expected to be another hot week in the Coastal Bend region. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for today and the temperatures are expected to remain elevated throughout the week. Stay hydrated, limit strenuous time outdoors, take frequent breaks if working outside, wear light-colored clothing, check on those most vulnerable to heat, and never leave people or pets inside a vehicle.

As a reminder, our Corpus Christi Public Libraries and Senior Centers are available during their regular operating hours to seek shelter from the heat.

The position conducts facility inspections, collects wastewater and sludge samples, and monitors discharges for pollutants that may impact the wastewater collection system, treatment facilities, or receiving waters.

Today, we came together as a community to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to remember the extraordinary courage and sacrifice shown by our nation’s first responders.

Members of the Corpus Christi Police Department, Corpus Christi Fire Department, and Port of Corpus Christi Police Department joined together for a 9/11 Memorial Service, paying tribute to the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day and to the first responders who ran toward danger while others were trying to escape.

First responders and members of our community also participated in the 7th Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

With every step, participants honored the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency personnel, and civilians whose lives were forever changed on September 11.

For our first responders, this day carries a special meaning. It reminds us of the courage of those who answered the call without hesitation, the families who endured unimaginable loss, and the responsibility we share to ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember.

We remember their courage.
We remember their sacrifice.
We remember their service.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
