HAPPENING SATURDAY, JUNE 13: In preparation for the current hurricane season, the Corpus Christi Public Works Department will offer residents free pre-filled sandbags from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or until all sandbags have been distributed). Residents can pick up sandbags at Cabaniss Athletic Complex (3061 Saratoga Boulevard).

There will be a second opportunity at the same location on Saturday, June 27, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (or until all bags have been distributed).

The right, eastbound lane of Saratoga Boulevard between Ayers Street and Kostoryz Road is reserved for the events. Residents will not be able to make a U-turn from the westbound lane of Saratoga Boulevard to enter the line.

Residents will receive a maximum of eight free sandbags per vehicle. Drivers are asked to have a clear area in the trunk or bed of their vehicle to store the sandbags. Drivers and passengers must remain inside their cars while sandbags are loaded.

The City of Corpus Christi invites residents to participate in Community Water Information Sessions happening across each Council District.

The fourth of eight sessions will take place in District 3 on Wednesday, June 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Moody High School Gymnasium, located at 1818 Trojan Drive.

During the sessions, the City Manager and Corpus Christi Water staff will be available to answer residents’ questions and provide updates on the City’s water supply efforts.

Citizens are welcome to attend any or all of the water information sessions.

The City of Corpus Christi’s Solid Waste Services will host a Litter Critter and free residential paper shredding event this Saturday, June 13, at the W.B. Ray High School parking lot (1002 Texan Trail, next to the Performing Arts Center). This drop-off event includes clean, flattened cardboard recycling and residential storm debris disposal.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲:
Paper Shredding: 9:00 a.m. – Noon (or until trucks reach capacity)
Litter Critter Drop-off: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀: Heavy brush, storm debris, bulky items, household trash, metal/appliances, and up to 4 standard tires.

𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱: Hazardous waste (concrete, chemicals, batteries), which must go to the J.C. Elliott Transfer Station.
