We're grateful for our Paramedic Outreach Educator, Wendy Greer and the many first responders, healthcare professionals, students, and community members she helps train throughout South Texas each year.

Recently, Wendy had the opportunity to share her expertise with members of the Alice Fire Department, Agua Dulce Volunteer Fire Department, Duval County Sheriff's Office, and Sandia Volunteer Fire Department—helping ensure these dedicated responders are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to act when every second matters.

Learning CPR and how to use an AED can make all the difference during an emergency.

𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐒𝐤𝐲𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 🌼🚁 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐅𝐑 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

What you're seeing is actually advanced IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) training taking place right here in South Texas.

This unique flight pattern is the result of a precision instrument flying exercise used to help our pilots refine the skills needed to safely navigate aircraft when visibility is limited and they must rely on their instruments rather than outside visual references.

During the exercise, pilots perform a series of precise climbs, descents, turns, and navigational intercepts while simulating flight in the clouds. These repetitive maneuvers help build the proficiency, confidence, and muscle memory required to safely operate in challenging conditions.

Training like this is critical to maintaining the highest standards of safety and ensuring our crews remain mission-ready when patients need us most.

💙🚁 Team Preston x Team HALO

Many of you may remember Preston Simpson. After a traumatic ATV accident, Preston was flown by HALO-Flight to Driscoll Children's Hospital, where his remarkable recovery journey began.

Today, Preston is inspiring families across Texas through his 30-Day Active Challenge, encouraging everyone to get outside, stay active, make healthy memories together, and never give up.

If an 8-year-old traumatic brain injury survivor can turn adversity into purpose, we can all find a way to get moving.

Whether it's a walk around the neighborhood, a bike ride, a swim, or a trip to the park, every step counts.

Preston has become part of the HALO family, and we hope you'll join us in supporting his journey, sharing his challenge, and cheering him on throughout June.

Training, teamwork, and communication are critical long before an emergency occurs. 🚁💙

Recently, HALO-Flight Outreach Educator Wendy Greer, Pilot Josh Renner, Flight Paramedic Walter Gibson, and Flight Nurse Aaron Chapa joined first responders from Kenedy County Sheriff's Office, Willacy County EMS, and Kenedy County Fire & Emergency Services District #01 for Landing Zone Safety training.

These trainings help strengthen partnerships, improve scene safety, and ensure agencies know when and how to safely activate air medical resources when every second matters.

Thank you to all who participated and to our partners for their commitment to education, preparedness, and patient care across South Texas.

The team at Be A Man With Me recently spent time with our crews for an unfiltered look into the world of air medical transport. While this episode captures plenty of humor, personality, and behind-the-scenes moments, it also highlights the realities of caring for critically ill and injured patients in a dynamic flight environment.

One of the things we appreciate most about this series is its focus on encouraging young people to step outside their comfort zones, pursue meaningful work, and challenge themselves in professions that require dedication, responsibility, teamwork, and service to others.

Although the episode takes a lighthearted approach, the work itself is anything but. Patient care, safety, and professionalism remain at the center of every mission we fly.

Please join us in congratulating Flight Nurse Christal Tressider on being recognized by the Coastal Bend Regional Advisory Council, Trauma Service Area U (CBRAC) for her leadership and contributions to HALO-Flight's Whole Blood on Board program. 🩸🚁

Since the program launched in 2019, more than 𝟐𝟎𝟎 patients have received blood transfusions onboard our aircraft, bringing critical care directly to patients when every minute matters.

A passionate advocate for prehospital blood transfusions, Christal has played a key role in advancing this lifesaving capability throughout South Texas. While this achievement reflects the efforts of many dedicated partners and healthcare professionals, this recognition is a testament to Christal's commitment to improving patient outcomes and advancing prehospital medicine.

Congratulations, Christal, on this well-deserved honor! 👏💙

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a time to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication of those who gave their lives protecting the freedoms we hold dear.

We also hold close the families who continue to carry the weight of that sacrifice every single day. Though they feel the absence of their loved ones deeply, they carry a pride that can never be taken away — the pride of knowing their hero served something greater than themselves.
