Today, we celebrate and thank the individuals whose generosity helps save lives every single day.

Through HALO-Flight's ๐–๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐ž ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐จ๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ, more than ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฎ patients have received lifesaving blood transfusions before reaching the hospital. Those transfusions were only possible because someone chose to donate.

We're grateful for our partnership with the Coastal Bend Blood Center and the continued advocacy of Coastal Bend Regional Advisory Council, Trauma Service Area U (CBRAC), helping expand access to blood products throughout South Texas. But none of these efforts would be possible without the selfless individuals who regularly roll up their sleeves to give.

To every blood donorโ€”and those preparing to become oneโ€”thank you. Your donation provides hope, healing, and a second chance when every second matters.

Today, we celebrate you. โค๏ธ

Another great Save a Life: Put Children First event is in the books! ๐Ÿš—โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ถ
Today, we had the opportunity to connect with approximately 100 community members, including families and individuals from across the Coastal Bend. Attendees left with their hands full of injury prevention resources, child safety information, and plenty of goodies to help keep their loved ones safe.
Events like this remind us that prevention starts with education, and we are excited to see this event continue to grow year after year. The enthusiasm and support from our community make all the hard work worthwhile.
A huge thank you to our incredible partners who showed up for the community and helped make today a success:

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times did an outstanding job highlighting the new program launching June 14 that will expand access to Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) services across the Coastal Bend.
Through this regional initiative, any survivor presenting to a hospital within the CBRAC region will have access to a forensic nurse exam, regardless of where they seek care. This collaboration helps ensure timely, trauma-informed, patient-centered care while reducing barriers that have historically existed for survivors in rural and underserved communities.
This milestone represents a year of partnership between hospitals, forensic nursing leadership, advocates, and regional stakeholders who share a common goal: ensuring equitable access to compassionate, specialized care when it is needed most.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this vision a reality. Beginning June 14, survivors throughout the Coastal Bend will have greater access to the care, resources, and support they deserve.

Sexual assault and violence victims in the Coastal Bend have had to travel to one location for forensic medical exams. Now, nurses will go to them at area hospitals. See link below โฌ‡๏ธ

๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿฉธ Another major step forward for patient care in the Coastal Bend!
The Corpus Christi Fire Department has officially begun carrying one unit of Low Titer O Positive Whole Blood (LTOWB) on their Field Medical Officer (FMO) unit, expanding access to lifesaving blood products when patients need them most.
A special thank you to Corpus Christi Fire Department for their commitment to advancing prehospital care and to the Coastal Bend Blood Center for their continued partnership and dedication to ensuring blood products are available within our community. Their collaboration is helping bring cutting-edge trauma care directly to the bedsideโ€”wherever that bedside may be.
This effort represents the power of regional partnerships working together to improve outcomes for patients experiencing severe hemorrhage and other emergencies throughout the Coastal Bend.
Thank you to everyone involved in making this possible and for your commitment to saving lives. โค๏ธ

In honor of National Trauma Survivors Day yesterday, the Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area Trauma Program Team held an opening ceremony for their Trauma Survivor Gallery of Strength, which will remain in the atrium through June 1.
As one of the two Level II Trauma Centers in our region, their team cares for some of the most severe and life-altering trauma cases seen in the Coastal Bend. While trauma care often focuses on the emergency itself, this gallery shifts the focus to the survivors โ€” highlighting the resilience, determination, and strength it took for these patients to heal and recover.
Thank you to the Trauma Program Team for inviting CBRAC staff to be part of such a meaningful unveiling and for continuing to honor the stories behind survivorship. โค๏ธ๐Ÿฉน
