🚑 CBRAC Out in the Region!
CBRAC Division Director of RAC Systems of Care and HCC-U Program Director Roland Padilla were invited by Refugio County EMS to join their staff meeting and provide an overview of CBRAC, our regional systems of care, and the many programs and initiatives that fall under the CBRAC umbrella.
Thank you to Refugio County EMS for the invitation and for giving us the opportunity to connect with your team! It is always valuable to get out into our region, meet with both familiar faces and new medics, and make sure our EMS partners know about the resources, programs, and support available through CBRAC.

❤️ Community Lifesaving in Action! ❤️
Yesterday, CBRAC was proud to partner with Fifth & Elm for a Community Lifesaving Event focused on providing our community with the knowledge, skills, and resources to respond when it matters most!
🩸 Three Stop the Bleed classes were held, training approximately 40 community members in lifesaving bleeding-control techniques.
❤️ A special thank you to the American Heart Association (AHA) for providing Hands-Only CPR education and CPR training manikins for community members to take home—helping families continue practicing and sharing these lifesaving skills.
🦺 Helmets, life jackets, and other injury-prevention resources were also distributed to help keep families throughout our community safe.
A huge thank you to all of our partners who helped make this event possible: Fifth & Elm, American Heart Association, CHRISTUS Spohn, Corpus Christi Medical Center (CCMC), Driscoll Children’s Hospital (DCH), and the City of Portland. Your continued commitment to injury prevention, lifesaving education, and community preparedness makes events like this possible.
Thank you to our instructors, volunteers, partners, and everyone who came out to learn. Together, we are building a safer and more prepared Coastal Bend community! 💙

🩸 Supporting the CBRAC Whole Blood Program! 🩸
On July 25th, CBRAC was proud to collaborate with Harley-Davidson and the Coastal Bend Blood Center for a community blood drive benefiting the CBRAC Whole Blood Program!
Thanks to the generosity of our community, 18 donors showed up to give blood and support lifesaving care across our region. ❤️
Throughout the event, CBRAC also had the opportunity to:
🩸 Educate the public about prehospital whole blood and its lifesaving role in the care of critically bleeding patients
🎟️ Sell tickets for our CBRAC Whole Blood Benefit Raffle
🦺 Provide injury prevention education and giveaways
🤝 Connect with our community and raise awareness about the importance of prehospital whole blood
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated blood, purchased raffle tickets, stopped by our booth, and supported the CBRAC Whole Blood Program. We are also grateful to Harley-Davidson and the Coastal Bend Blood Center for partnering with us to make this event possible.

🎉 Celebrating the Success of the Inaugural CBRAC Coastal Bend Neurosciences Symposium! 🧠
CBRAC is proud to celebrate the success of our inaugural Coastal Bend Neurosciences Symposium!
The symposium brought together healthcare professionals, clinical experts, and regional partners for a day of education, collaboration, and meaningful discussion focused on advancing neurological and stroke care throughout the Coastal Bend.
We extend a special thank you to the organizations and individuals who helped make this event possible:

CBRAC was so happy to participate in this wonderful Back-to-School Bash and help prepare our community for a safe and successful school year! 🎒📚❤️
As part of the event, Roland Padilla with CBRAC and Patricia Sanders with CHRISTUS Spohn Alice provided Stop the Bleed education, teaching participants important, lifesaving skills that can make a difference when every second counts.
We’re grateful for opportunities like this to connect with our community, strengthen preparedness, and empower individuals with the knowledge and confidence to respond in an emergency.

What an incredible morning celebrating one of the Coastal Bend's finest.
CBRAC was honored to present Patrick McBride with the CBRAC Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his decades of unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and lasting impact on emergency medical services, healthcare, and the countless lives he has touched throughout our region.
Patrick's commitment to serving others has inspired generations of EMS professionals, healthcare providers, and community leaders. His legacy is reflected not only in the systems he helped build, but in the people he has mentored and encouraged along the way.
We were also proud to present the inaugural Patrick McBride CISM Award to the Driscoll Children's Hospital Internal CISM Team. This award recognizes an organization that exemplifies Patrick's passion for supporting first responders and healthcare professionals through critical incident stress management, peer support, and compassion during life's most challenging moments.
Congratulations to Patrick McBride and the Driscoll Children's Hospital Internal CISM Team on these well-deserved honors. Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and commitment to making the Coastal Bend stronger.

Congratulations to Tri County EMS as they prepare to begin carrying Low Titer O Whole Blood (LTOWB) as part of the CBRAC Regional Whole Blood Program!

Tri County EMS was our second pilot agency in the regional program and has put in the work to make this launch a success. Their dedication, commitment to training, and focus on providing the highest level of prehospital care will make a lasting impact on the patients they serve.
