Coastal Bend Community Foundation Through additional donations and a history of stewardship, these assets have grown to over $128 million as of December 31, 2021.

Our Mission is to improve the quality of life in the Coastal Bend by building community endowment and addressing social, educational, environmental, and cultural needs through the awarding of grants and scholarships in our seven-county service area. The Foundation was established in 1981 as a project of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce with a donation of $150,000 from the Paul and Mary Haas

Foundation. The Foundation has awarded over $149 million in grants to charitable organizations and scholarships to students since it was founded. The Foundation serves Aransas, Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, Refugio, and San Patricio counties. The Coastal Bend Community Foundation is one of approximately 900 community foundations in the United States and one of over 500 which are accredited by the Council on Foundations National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations process nationwide. This accreditation ensures the Foundation has policies in place for financial stability and longevity, affirming continued commitment to its donors, grantees, and community.

💚 Meet Hon. Robert E. Blaschke of Refugio County, a member of our Board of Directors and a longtime leader in the Coastal Bend community.

A retired DuPont employee and former Refugio County Judge, Judge Blaschke continues to make a lasting impact through leadership and service across the Coastal Bend. He currently serves on the boards of the Refugio County Community Development Foundation and the Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group, and is President of the Woodsboro Education Foundation.

In 2023, Governor Greg Abbott appointed him to the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority Board of Directors. We are grateful for the experience, perspective, and dedication he brings to Coastal Bend Community Foundation and the communities we serve. 💛
