Way to go K9 Hera and Sergeant Gonzales!

Last week, while attending the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA) conference, K9 Hera and Sergeant Rudy Gonzales participated in both the Patrol K9 Competition and the Narcotics Detection Competition against approximately 50 K9 teams from multiple states, as well as several K9 teams from Mexico.

K9 Hera and Sergeant Gonzales placed 4th overall in the Patrol K9 Competition and 2nd overall in the Narcotics Detection Competition at the national level.

The competition consisted of a large number of highly experienced K9 teams and was extremely competitive throughout all phases. We are very proud of their performance and the results they were able to achieve during the conference. Thank you for representing the NCSO well!

Temporary Closure of Bob Hall Pier

Due to the timing of necessary inspections and the stormy weather forecasted for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning the Bob Hall Pier closure has been pushed to Thursday May 28th and Friday May 29th starting at 5am on Thursday and ending at 5pm Friday.

This will shorten the closure to just 2 days versus the previous 4 days anticipated. Important to note that this closure will close off access to the entire pier. Caution tape and barricades will be in place to mark the area clearly and construction personnel will be on site during this time frame.

We request the public’s cooperation to maintain a safe distance and respect the work zone to allow crews to complete the work efficiently and return the pier back to active public use by the end of this time frame.

As we spend time with family and friends this holiday weekend, let us take a moment to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of their selfless service. 🇺🇸
