Bonney Memorial Library wants to show off tons of new "stuff." Thanks to several successful grant submissions over the past couple of years, we have been very very busy making improvements, upgrading technology, enhancing our children's space, increasing accessibility, refreshing our meeting room, etc. and we want to host a public viewing and celebration. Please drop in on Sat., 9/26 from 10am to 1pm. All are welcome. More details to come.

In honor of Labor Day, Bonney Memorial Library is closed today and Monday, Sept. 7th. Regular hours for the library are: Mondays, 9-2pm; Tuesdays, 9-6pm; Wednesdays, 9-2pm; Thursdays, 11-6pm; Fridays, closed; Saturdays, 9-noon and closed Sundays.

Today in 1947, the beloved children's bedtime story "Goodnight Moon" was published. Margaret Wise Brown is a very familiar name in children's lit circles and with parents and children worldwide, but how about the illustrator, Clement Hurd? Hurd began his collaboration with "Brownie" with "Bumble Bugs and Elephants," published in 1938 and "perhaps the first modern board book for babies." Illustrating "The Runaway Bunny" in 1942 followed and then came the classic, 'Goodnight Moon,' "the ultimate baby book and if I had to choose just one single book to read to my baby, this would be it.”
