🌿 Looking for counseling services for yourself, your relationship, or your family? 🌿

Family Service Society is currently accepting referrals for counseling services in our Corning office. While some services may have a waitlist, we anticipate additional appointment availability in the near future for individuals, couples, and families. 🧠💚

Our experienced clinicians provide compassionate, professional support for a wide range of concerns and life challenges. 🤝✨

We currently accept Fidelis and MVP commercial and managed care insurance plans, Medicaid, offer self-pay options, and may have grant-funded services available for those who qualify.

📞 To learn more or begin the intake process, please call 607-962-3148 and ask to speak with our Intake Worker. Intake calls are accepted Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Taking the first step can be difficult, but you don't have to do it alone. 💚🌱

Family Service Society, Inc. is honored to receive a Health and Wellness Award from in support of our Youth Prevention Education Program.

This funding will support prevention education and wellness programming for children and teens at the Laura Richardson Houghton Corning Youth Center, helping youth build healthy coping skills, strengthen decision-making, and increase awareness around mental health and wellness.

Honoring 108 Years of Community Impact

This month, Family Service Society, Inc. celebrates 108 years of service - a legacy built on compassion, advocacy, and a deep commitment to strengthening families.

When the agency was incorporated in 1918, our founders had already been working tirelessly to support families facing illness, poverty, and limited access to essential resources. They recognized that the challenges affecting community health were rooted in broader social needs - nutrition, childcare, employment, financial stability, and access to care. Their determination shaped the mission that still guides us today.

In our early work, the agency created programs that promoted children’s health and safety, supported working families, expanded school-based nutrition and dental care, and helped establish community health initiatives that would later grow into public health organizations.

As the decades unfolded, Family Service Society, Inc. continued to evolve. In response to rising mental health needs, family changes, and growing awareness of trauma, the agency shifted its focus to counseling and youth services.

During the catastrophic 1972 flood that struck our region, the community turned to Family Service Society, Inc. as a trusted source of stability. We coordinated resources, provided trauma support, and helped guide the community through recovery - a defining moment in our history.

Today, our mission remains as vital as ever. We feed and support children at the Laura Richardson Houghton Corning Youth Center, offer counseling services and trauma treatment, provide parenting support and mentoring services, and walk alongside families in moments of crisis.

As we celebrate 108 years, we honor the vision and courage of those who came before us - and we look forward with renewed energy to meeting the challenges ahead.
