Well it official, my bid for city council has come up short! I’m saddened that I will not beable to serve my community in the way I had hoped to. But I know everything happens for a reason and I’m not planning on going away!

Thank you to everyone that helped support me thru these last couple of months! Either thru good thoughts or votes on paper I appreciate it! And like I said I still will continue to be involved so please engage me if you have a question or a concern that I can possible be of help in finding a solution for.

I am hoping to get a form of an ethics committee in place to help deal with some of the more “unethical” things that sometimes come up in our daily dealings with our city government and officials. I absolutely don’t think that things like telling people to vote incorrectly as an elected official is right!! And perhaps if people are called out on these kinds of behavior it can help things run more smoothing and transparent!

Meanwhile, get involved, even a small amount of involvement makes a difference! Thank you all again!

There is nothing this girl needs more than this 10’ Bumble, except to get everyone out voting tomorrow! This is such an important election on so many levels! So unless you have already early voted or sent that ballot in, be like Mr Bumble and bounce your way to your local polling place and let’s make history!! For some reason I love going to vote in person, have since I could vote when I turned 18! Although it’s taken a few years to understand how precious that choice is, it is something I do proudly!!

Like I’ve said before I’m ready to go to work and help to continue to make our little town the best place to call home!! Thank you all for your support, in so many ways! And the positive thoughts are a game changer for sure!

Well we are a few short weeks away from the 2024 election! And I’m so thankful because I’m ready to get to work!
And I’m getting weary of people and their not so great campaigning ethics! I know people like to vote for what they think they see, but if you actually dig a bit into what people really do, it’s minimal, it’s biased and it’s hypocritical! Ive always been a, you get what you see kind of person, I follow rules and try to make good choices that benefit as many people as it can! What I say to your face is what I will say when I turn my back to talk to the person behind me! And I have found out sadly that as much as someone smiles to your face and tells you what they want you to hear, they will tell a whole new story to the next person in line!
Try to know who you’re electing, it truly makes a difference! And thank you for caring enough about our city and our country to put your 2 cents in!

Here are the 5 questions posed to all City of Corning candidates by the Red Bluff Daily News. I was the only one to respond. 5 different questions were posed to the Red Bluff Council candidates also! I think 4 out of the 5 answered. Here is my questions and answers! Remember voting is right around the corner! If you have any questions about the questions or my answers, please reach out!

The Red Bluff Daily News recently contacted eight council candidates in Corning and Red Bluff to a series of questions posed to all candidates. The Daily News received responses from five of the eight candidates, and we now publish those 5 responses.

1. Talk about infrastructure is a constant in town. Which aspect of infrastructure requires greater attention and how would you improve it?

It’s talked about constantly because just like owning a home, it’s a constant venture in up keep and maintenance. The city has put into place several plans for infrastructure improvement, and I know our water system is approaching a critical point, so I think it’s the next big thing worked on!

2. What do you think of the unhoused? How should the city approach this topic?

I am sympathetic to the unhoused, that is not a great place to be. But there are many aspects that 50 words don’t come close to covering this issue. I think we need more “help up” and not “ hand out” programs. And more aspects of mental health and addiction programs.

3. Even if you disagree, describe how you would cooperate and communicate with other council members?

It’s ok to disagree, as long as you can talk about it. Best ideas come from that kind discourse! And not being afraid to be honest when issues or ideas are personally or morally causing you an issue.

4. What is the function of public safety and what duty does the council have to it?

Public safety is about physical and educational action and awareness! The city council has a huge part in approving ordinances and protocols for safety and funding plans for our law enforcement and fire departments. Public works also take on many tasks to ensure public safety!

5. The project for Corning City Plaza is in progress. How will you ensure that the city can complete this and other significant public works?

By having our ducks in order, like having our 7th cycle house plan up to date, it qualifies us for some great grant opportunities! Which will help, to ensure that project being completed! Other large plans, can benefit from that also, and strategic budgeting!

Fall is in the air 🍁 or at least it’s trying!! City council meeting on Tuesday the 8th at 6:30! This will be the last 6:30 meeting, after this point meeting times with start at 5:30. One reason this was done was to hopefully help encourage people to attend more meetings! We know everyone is busy but there can be a lot of information and things that are important to life in Corning, and without attending sometimes it’s hard to know what’s going on! Or bring up something that needs to go on!

Here is the agenda for Tuesday nights meeting! One item to be discussed is the bring back the K-9 program for the police dept! Which I personally think is a great addition to our ever improving police dept! Love to see you all there!
