South Marshall Fire Dept and Marshall County OEM along with Tennessee Highway Patrol, Marshall County EMS, Libby's Towing, and a couple others came out for the event this afternoon. We thought it was going ro be a rain out be Mother Nature broke the clouds long enough for us to show the kids around the trucks. We hope to make this event a regular occurrence that is open to the public. Hope to see you at the next one.

On the afternoon of 3 Jun 2026, South Marshall Volunteer Fire Department along with Berlin Volunteer Fire Dept, Marshall County OEM, Marshall County Sheriff's Office Tennessee and THP were dispatched to a commercial vehicle fire on I-65 around the 31-mile marker on the southbound side. The fire was extinguished with no injuries to anyone involved. The company identification has been removed for the truck involved for obvious reasons. Marshall County EMS was called out to check out a couple of the firefighters who got a little overheated but everyone was okay.

Yesterday around noon South Marshall Fire Department responded to I-65 for a motor vehicle accident with injuries and entrapment along with Marshall County OEM, Marshall County EMS, Marshall County Sheriff's Office Tennessee, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The patients were successfully extracted from their overturned vehicle and cared for by Marshall County EMS on scene.

We apologize about the delay. If you don't have one, we encourage everyone to get one. They really do make a difference not only for the fire department but anyone that is looking for your house. The fire department makes hardly nothing on these so it's not a fundraiser, it is truly a service to the community.

Much thanks to NAFECO, Artic Compressors, John Looney, and the Tennessee Fire Marshal's VFEAT grant for our new addition. This will give us more capability at our station to serve our citizens.

This weekend, our dedicated volunteers tackled a couple of major projects that have been on the backburner for quite some time.

We successfully installed a new floor drain to catch runoff from Engine 1’s tank, as well as a new rail system for our mezzanine storage area. These improvements will help us operate more efficiently and keep our station in top shape.

We want to give a huge thank you to our very own volunteer Jason Lemmon of JL Landscape, along with David Looney of Kings Excavation LLC, for generously donating their time, expertise, and equipment to help us complete these much-needed upgrades.

Your support makes a real difference in helping us serve our community safely and effectively.
