Community Archive Page The Smithville CommUNITY Coalition was organized in summer of 2011. Thank you.

It is currently a registered NC non-profit seeking 501 (c) 3 IRS recognition- which is expected in 2013. It is locally led by residents. The coalition is made up of residents, area citizens, non-profits and faith-based communities, and the Town of Cornelius. The SCC is aimed at improving Smithville, the East Catawba Avenue Corridor, and Cornelius. The SCC future state vision includes 4 components:

Community (which includes a community center serving all of Cornelius), Job Training and Economic Development, and various Programs (for children, youth, families, seniors and ex-offenders), and Housing. I've been trying to figure a way to get the message out that I admire, even love Joe Biden. It was a sacrifice for him to pass the torch. Now that is Patriotic, a true Patriot! Now, I feel excited and optimistic about the election. Go Kamala!

New date for Jazz Festival

We are excited to announce that the Jazz Festival has been rescheduled for August 24 at Smithville Park.

The Smithville CommUNITY Coalition (SCC) is seeking volunteers to assist vendors in setting up/ taking down tents, transporting vendor items to/from cars, and assisting with parking. Times needed are between 2:30-5:00pm, you can help for as little as an hour or as long as you are able.
