Weekend plans? 🎣🏖️🍔🎬🏌️‍♂️

Whether you’re heading to the lake, firing up the grill, or just enjoying time with family and friends, make sure your weekend memories are the good kind.

If your plans include alcohol, make a plan for a safe ride home before the fun starts. A designated driver or a call to a friend is a lot cheaper than a DUI.

Remember: The only thing that should be “under the influence” this weekend is your decision to have a good time.

Drive sober. Arrive alive. The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office wants everyone to enjoy the weekend and make it home safe.

🧡 Today, members of the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office are wearing orange in recognition of Gun Violence Awareness Day.

Gun violence impacts families, friends, and communities across our nation, including right here at home. Today serves as a reminder of the lives lost, the survivors forever affected, and the importance of working together to prevent violence before it happens.

We encourage everyone to practice responsible gun ownership, securely store fi****ms, and help keep guns out of the hands of those who may misuse them—especially our youth.

Awareness is the first step toward prevention. By having conversations, supporting one another, and staying engaged in our community, we can all play a role in creating a safer Crisp County.

Together, we can make a difference. 🧡

Today, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office was proud to participate in and help sponsor the Savvy Senior Program at South Georgia Technical College alongside Christ Episcopal Church and the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office.

Programs like this provide valuable information to help our seniors recognize and avoid the many types of fraud and scams that target individuals every day. From phone scams and identity theft to online fraud and financial exploitation, criminals are constantly finding new ways to deceive unsuspecting victims.

We encourage everyone to stay informed, be cautious when sharing personal information, and always verify requests involving money or sensitive information.

If you believe you have been the victim of a scam or fraudulent activity, please do not hesitate to contact the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office. Reporting scams not only helps protect you, but it may also help prevent others in our community from becoming victims.

Together, through education and awareness, we can make our community safer for everyone.

⛳💙 THANK YOU FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our sincere appreciation to every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, and supporter who helped make our Golf Tournament benefiting the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes a success.

Your generosity and commitment to this cause help provide a safe, stable, and supportive environment for children across Georgia who need it most. Because of your support, the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes can continue their mission of offering hope, guidance, and opportunity to young people facing difficult circumstances.

Whether you sponsored a hole, entered a team, donated items, purchased raffle tickets, or simply helped spread the word, you played an important role in making this event possible.

We are proud to serve a community that continually steps up to support such a worthy cause. Thank you for investing in the future of Georgia’s youth and for helping us make a positive impact that extends far beyond the golf course.

From all of us at the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office—THANK YOU! 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

⚠️ SCAM ALERT ⚠️

The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of individuals offering pine straw services and demanding excessive payment after the work is completed. These bales appear to be loose and probably half the size of a normal bale, so the price being charged to the customer is at least double.

We are aware of these incidents and are actively working to identify those involved.

Before allowing anyone to perform work on your property, please remember:

✅ Verify that the individual or company has a valid business license.
✅ Get a written estimate and agree on a price BEFORE any work begins.
✅ Ask for references and verify the legitimacy of the business.
✅ Never feel pressured into making an immediate decision.
✅ If something doesn’t seem right, trust your instincts and contact law enforcement.

If you have encountered a similar situation or have information that may assist our investigation, please get in touch with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office. 229.276.2600

Stay vigilant and help protect your neighbors by sharing this information.
