The Cordele Fire Dept. held a Pinning Ceremony this morning for three newly promoted firefighters. Training Chief Justin Cook, Lieutenant Brett Walls, and Sergeant Kenneth Beavers were promoted last week into their new positions. Their families had the opportunity today to "pin" their new badges on them. Sgt. Beavers was unable to attend but his family will have the opportunity to pin him at a later date. This is a long-standing Fire Department tradition and serves to further build the relationship that firefighters and their family's share. Many departments call it "brotherhood", we just say that firefighters and their families take care of firefighters and their families. The ceremony was well attended by Commissioners, our City Manager, Department Heads, Fire Chaplain, members of the fire and police departments, and family members.
Please help us congratulate Chief Cook, Lt. Walls, and Sgt. Beavers...Thank you for all you do!
