An Oregon State Parks day-use parking permit is required at Crown Point State Scenic Corridor Vista House at Crown Point, is an Oregon State Park, historic building, and viewpoint located in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Vista House was originally built as a rest stop for travelers. It is also an observatory, and memorial to the pioneers of Oregon. Friends of Vista House

is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, working in partnership with Oregon State Parks, to provide interpretive displays and information and help preserve and protect the historic Vista House. The building is much larger on the inside than it may appear from the outside, and there are three levels: the main floor, or rotunda, where visitors can get interpretive information from FOVH volunteers and park rangers, the upper level balcony where you will experience panoramic views of the Columbia River Gorge, unrivaled by any other gorge viewpoint, and the lower level, where visitors will find gorgeous marble bathrooms, interpretive exhibits and displays. Friends of Vista House operates a gift shop, offering local handcrafted goods, as well as souvenir items, and an espresso shop that serves high quality beverages. The building is ADA accessible, with the addition of a unique lift, added in 2006. We are easy to reach from Interstate-84; take exit 22 to Corbett, and head east along the Historic Columbia River Highway/Hwy 30. Vista House is an ideal first stop on a trip through the Gorge. Then continue down the scenic historic highway to pass by a array of spectacular waterfalls, including the famous Multnomah Falls, located only 8.5 miles beyond Vista House.
