The Coralville Community Food Pantry believes that when you give food, you give hope. And hope requires many helping hands. The Food Pantry relies heavily on volunteer power to provide food assistance to our community. If you're looking for a way to get involved and help your neighbors, please join us to learn what volunteering at the pantry involves. There are always plenty of opportunities to help, and who knows, maybe you'll want to join them and be part of their regular volunteer team.

Thank you so much to Hai Huynh, Associate Director of the Coralville Community Food Pantry for an amazing foraging program! Hai took our teens out into the woods to learn about all the edible plants around us. After collecting many mushrooms and greens, we returned to the library, where Hai showed us how to prepare what we’d collected. The result was delicious, and many teens called this one of our best programs yet!

Our first summer program of the year, Let’s Eat: Gardening 101, was a huge success thanks to the amazing Scott Koepke, founder of Garden Bridge Outreach! Our teens not only got to learn the basics of gardening but also got the chance to harvest some of the vegetables from our library’s community garden. They also got to put some of their new gardening knowledge to work by planting an herb bed with basil, oregano, and more!
