🚨 UTILITY LINES DOWN / TREE FIRE – ROAD CLOSURE 🚨

Station 160 was dispatched to the area of 333 1st Street for a report of utility lines down.

Engine 161 and Rescue 166 responded and arrived to find a large tree actively burning and extending over a nearby residence. Due to the immediate hazard posed by the burning tree and energized utility lines, Station 160 members quickly advised the occupants to evacuate the residence as a precaution.

⚡ Electrical power remained active to the tree and utility lines, creating a significant electrocution hazard for personnel operating in the area. Because of this, crews avoided the use of a handline in close proximity to the energized equipment.

Instead, members utilized Engine 161’s deck gun from a safe distance, directing the stream above the fire and allowing the water to fall onto the burning tree while personnel remained protected at the apparatus.

Shortly after water was applied, the energized power line fell to the ground, where it continued to arc and spark until the electrical circuit opened.

⚠️ ROAD CLOSURE & POWER OUTAGE

The roadway will remain closed between Locust Street and Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Graceton for an extended period while utility crews work to address the downed lines and related hazards.

Residents should also be aware that power is not expected to be restored to affected homes until later this afternoon.

Please avoid the area and allow emergency personnel and utility crews room to work safely.

Incidents involving downed or burning power lines can be extremely dangerous and unpredictable. Always assume a downed power line is energized, stay well away from it, and call 911.

🚨 MUTUAL AID — WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE 🚨

Station 160 is currently operating with Station 100 at a fully involved structure fire off Brady Drive.

Rescue/Air 166 responded from Station 160 to assist crews operating on scene and provide breathing-air support for firefighters.

Rescue 166 is a 1996 Freightliner E-One Mobile Air Unit, equipped with a 6,000 PSI, 8-bottle cascade system and an onboard breathing-air compressor, allowing crews to refill SCBA cylinders on scene during extended fireground operations.

Mobile air resources play an important role at working fires, helping keep interior and exterior crews supplied with breathing air throughout the incident.

Please use caution in the area and give responding apparatus and emergency personnel plenty of room to operate.

🚨 STRUCTURE FIRE – BLACK LICK AREA 🚨

Crews are currently responding to a fully involved structure fire along Barrondale Road in the Black Lick area.

Barrondale Road is currently CLOSED. Please avoid the area and use an alternate route to allow emergency personnel and apparatus to safely access the scene.

⚠️ Please use caution in the surrounding area and do not attempt to travel on Barrondale Road until the roadway has reopened.
