Cristina M. Olaechea, ED.S. Licensed School Psychologist

Cristina M. Olaechea, ED.S. Licensed School Psychologist Welcome! I am first and foremost a mother of two beautiful children who keep me on my toes and teach me something new every day!

With a passion for early intervention and years of experience in both public schools and private practice, I created this page to help spread awareness and share information (and maybe even a little inspiration!) with the community. From a young age, I always loved being surrounded by children and formalized a career in School Psychology after graduating from Florida International University in 20

03 with an Educational Specialist Degree. My passion is early intervention and I was fortunate enough to work with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Prekindergarten population for over 10 years. I became a Licensed School Psychologist in 2009 in order to further my practice and perform gifted and psychoeducational evaluations, as well as observations and consultations, for students Prek through 12th grade. In January 2012, I created this page as a means of networking with the community while sharing articles, workshops, and ideas that might be helpful to parents, professionals, and anyone who cares about children. Due to my great interest in the special needs population, I also aim to spread awareness on related topics through this media. Most recently, I have written articles for several publications, including Sprinkles, Unique Me, and U & Me magazines, and feel incredibly grateful for these opportunities to give back and connect with our community!

Despite what I was told as a child, my poor spelling and sloppiness are not a reflection of inferior intelligence or laziness. Indeed, quite the opposite may...

It’s no surprise that adolescents find handy, if sometimes quirky, ways to reset when they are feeling overwhelmed.
