The National Security and Armed Conflict Law Review is seeking additional members for the law review and thus is opening up a secondary application process. Specifically, we are looking for students who will continue to be members during the 2016-2017 school year. J.D., L.L.M. and transfer students that have at least one more year of study following the 2015-2016 year left are eligible to apply. Students seeking candidacy with NSAC must have (1) completed at least 32 credits with at least a 3.0 GPA; and (2) been in residence at UM School of Law for at least one semester at the time of their application. L.L.M. students who will be continuing their education for the 2016-2017 school year only need to demonstrate a 3.0 GPA and at least one semester in attendance at UM at the time of their application. Students with exceptional background in national security, intelligence or military issues may have the GPA requirement waived. All applicants must present a substantive article of publishable quality on a topic relating in some way to military or national security issues by February 28, 2015 to be considered for candidacy. The scope of acceptable paper topics is broad so please contact NSAC with any questions. NSAC will evaluate the papers and determine which are of publishable quality in the NSAC. In exchange, students who have accepted an offer of publication and an offer of candidacy agree to serve as an active member of NSAC for at least the 2016-2017 academic year. Please notify NSAC of intentions to submit papers that are in progress by December 15, 2015. All questions, including concerns about membership requirements and paper topics can be directed to Jeremy Gale at [email protected].
