Mayor Yancey has proclaimed the week of Sept. 15th - Oct. 15th to be Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of Copperas Cove, in recognition of the indelible footprints of Hispanic culture in our daily lives.

The Proclamation states in part “Hispanics have enhanced and shaped our national character with centuries old traditions that reflect the multi-ethic and multicultural customs of their communities, while adding their own distinct and dynamic perspectives to the story of our country.

Accepting the proclamation last evening was AnaLuisa Carrillo-Tapia from LULAC Herencia Council 4297.📜🫶

During last evening’s City Council Workshop Mayor Yancey proclaimed October 3rd as “Oscar’s Market Day” in the City of Copperas Cove. Accepting the Proclamation was Sarah Olaleye, City Director for Lemonade Day Fort Hood Area, and Michelle Rocha-O’Sullivan, founder of Oscar’s Market.

The Proclamation states in part “Oscar’s Market was inspired by the vision and leadership of Copperas Cove community leader Michelle Rocha-O’Sullivan, and was founded to empower youth to become socially conscious individuals who seek to positively impact their communities.”📜🍋🛍️

We were honored to attend last week’s United Way of Central Texas Leadership Breakfast‼️ The City of Copperas Cove and our amazing Team members take pride in supporting this wonderful organization, which provides necessary support for many non-profit organizations right here in Central Texas.💙🤝

Over the past 3 years alone, our City Team members have pledged $46,000+ out of their own paychecks in support of this organization and various non-profits >>> and that makes us so PROUD!!😊👏
