Eighteen Copperas Cove High School JROTC cadets recently participated in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC), where they developed leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through events such as land navigation, physical fitness competitions, the Leadership Reaction Course, rock climbing, squad competitions, and water safety training.

Our cadets represented Copperas Cove with pride, demonstrating discipline, determination, and resilience throughout the week. Competing against 9 schools and 144 cadets, the Bulldawg Battalion earned 4 leadership trophies and gained valuable experiences that will help them grow as future leaders.

We are proud of the way these cadets challenged themselves and represented our school and community.

🌟 Congratulations to Emmaleigh Netherwood! 🌟

Copperas Cove FFA is proud to recognize Emmaleigh Netherwood for being elected as the 2026-2027 Bosque River District FFA Treasurer!

Earning a District Officer position is a significant accomplishment that requires dedication, leadership, and a commitment to serving others. Candidates go through a competitive selection process that includes interviews, leadership activities, public speaking, and evaluations by a panel of judges. The process is designed to identify students who will represent their chapters, schools, and the FFA organization at the highest level.

As Bosque River District Treasurer, Emmaleigh will help lead FFA members from across the district, assist with district events, and serve as an ambassador for agricultural education and leadership development.

We are proud of Emmaleigh’s hard work and willingness to serve. She represents the very best of Copperas Cove FFA and what it means to be Bulldawg Built.

🔥 Big things are cooking for Bulldawg BBQ! 🔥

Bulldawg BBQ is excited about a new partnership with Big P Smokers as we continue growing our competitive BBQ program and giving students real-world, hands-on experiences in competition barbecue and food preparation.

Paul from Big P Smokers recently delivered 3 UDS (Ugly Drum Smoker) barrels, grill grates, fire boxes, and Big P’s proprietary dome lids to help get our BBQ teams outfitted with competition-level equipment. Our students will now take these materials and build their own competition smokers that will be used during BBQ competitions, training and cookoffs.

We are thankful to Paul and Big P Smokers for investing in our students and helping Bulldawg BBQ continue moving forward at a high level. Students will be learning more about competition-style cooking, smoker design, fire management, and the equipment used by competitive BBQ teams across Texas.

We encourage our community to check out Big P Smokers and support a company that is investing in students and helping grow the next generation of BBQ competitors and pitmasters.

Our CTE Culinary Arts students wrapped up the year with an incredible capstone project! They developed complete business plans for their own food truck concepts, crafted signature menu staples, and pitched them to judges. We are so proud of their hard work and creativity!

This year, one project held a deeply personal meaning. A group of students created their food truck concept and signature dish as a beautiful tribute to our classmate, Adrian Frias, whom we lost earlier this school year. It was a moving reminder of Adrian's lasting impact on our culinary family and community. We remember Adrian and celebrate the love his classmates poured into this tribute.

Our talented Culinary Kids had a busy day on May 14th! We are so proud of the hard work they put into assisting and catering the Copperas Cove Retired Teachers Luncheon.

It was a beautiful full-circle moment to see our current students serving the educators who dedicated their careers to this community. From prep to plating, our students demonstrated professionalism, skill, and a whole lot of heart.

Setting a new standard for campus beauty! ✨🏆

Our incredible CTE Turf Grass Management crew was out in full force today, putting their hands-on skills to work for a major campus beautification project. From leveling the ground to laying fresh, green sod, these students are transforming our campus landscape one section at a time.

Our student Construction Crew has spent months measuring, sawing, and hammering away while building real-world projects for both our school district and community members.

This year, our students completed multiple construction projects, including custom chicken coops, storage sheds for community members, and an equipment shed for the softball field. These projects gave students the opportunity to work through the entire construction process from start to finish while developing hands-on skills in framing, measuring, assembly, project planning, and teamwork.

Students in the program are also working toward earning their HBI Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate Training (PACT), Core industry-based certification, helping prepare them for careers in the construction and skilled trades industries.

Beyond technical skills, students gained experience working with customers, meeting project expectations, and seeing their work make a direct impact within the community.

We are proud of the craftsmanship, professionalism, and work ethic these students demonstrated throughout the year. These are the kinds of hands-on experiences that help prepare students for future careers in the skilled trades.
